First-year runner
Sevan Ikeda (Fremont, Calif.) had quite the debut for the Gallaudet University men's cross country team here Saturday at the Salisbury University Fall Classic at WinterPlace Park.
Ikeda finished the 8K race fourth overall with a time of 25 minutes and 29.20 seconds. The time is the fourth fastest in Gallaudet school history. This was Ikeda's first collegiate race.
Ikeda is the first Bison to post a Top 10 school mark in an 8K race since 2015 when first-year runner
Otto Kingstedt posted four Top 10 marks. Kingstedt's best time as a Bison was 26:02, which is now fifth overall just behind Ikeda. Gallaudet Athletics Hall of Famer
Gregory Warren still holds the top three 8K times but those times are within range of Ikeda. Warren's school record time in the 8K is 24:49, just over 41 seconds ahead of Ikeda.
