Defensive Player of the Week
Lauren Moffatt / SO / Mountville, Pa. / Hempfield
Lauren Moffatt turned in the best stretch of her career to lead Penn State Harrisburg to a pair of conference victories and a 2-1 record last week. The sophomore opened the week with a 15-point, 12-rebound double-double in a narrow road loss on Monday before finishing a bucket shy of another double-double in a win over Penn State Berks on Wednesday in which she tallied a career-high 15 rebounds, eight points and three steals. The forward saved her best for last, netting a career-high 21 points, grabbing 10 boards, swiping four steals and dishing out three assists to record another double-double in an improbable come-from-behind victory against Gallaudet on Saturday. In a game the Lions trailed by 21 entering the final frame, she scored 17 points and went 8-for-8 from the foul line in the fourth quarter to spark the comeback effort. For the week, Moffatt averaged 14.7 points and 12.3 rebounds per game, finished a perfect 22-for-22 from the foul line and added seven steals, five assists and a block.
This is Moffatt's first ever weekly accoalde.
