Senior Mark Tymchenko helped lead the Penn State Abington to a 2-0 week, including a victory in the team's United East Conference (UEC) opener against Lancaster Bible College. Tymchenko went 2-0 in his matches in the 5-2 victory against Alvernia University to start the week. He teamed up with Daniel Trott at first doubles and came away with a 6-4 victory. In this third singles match, he went the distance against the Red Wolves' Tory O'Malley. Tymchenko won the first set, 7-5, and then won the 10-point tie-break in the third set to win the match. He capped the week on Senior Day with another first doubles victory with Trott as the duo won 6-1 against the Chargers. Tymchenko won his third singles match against Cameron Tripp with a straight sets victory of 6-1, 6-2.
This is Tymchenko's first United East weekly accolade of his career.
