Penn State Berks Wins Seventh NEAC Women's Soccer Championship in a Row

LATHAM, N.Y. - Penn State Berks won its seventh consecutive North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) women's soccer championship on Sunday. 

Penn State Berks (15-6) topped Penn State Harrisburg (11-10-1) 5-0. Berks led 1-0 at the half before scoring four goals in the final 27 minutes of the game.

Emily Clapper (Lancaster, Pa.) opened the scoring in the 13th minute with her 19th of the season. Clapper added her second of the game in the 78th minute to make it 4-0 Berks. 

In the 64th minute, Jeyda Duran (Reading, Pa.) made it 2-0 Berks on her third of the year on an assist from Alexis Schoener (Fleetwood, Pa.). Duran was also named the tournament's MVP. Schoener found the back of the net to make it 3-0, and Megan Jardine (Mohrsville, Pa.) capped the scoring for Berks with five minutes left. 

Penn State Harrisburg was limited to five shots and two on goal--coming from Kristen Stark (Lancaster, Pa.) and Rhyan Socash (York Haven, Pa.)Hannah Williams (South Orange, N.J.) made seven stops. 

Berks advances to the NCAA Tournament for the seventh year in a row and will find out their postseason matchup Monday on the NCAA Division III Selection Show, which will air on NCAA.com at 1 p.m.
