LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East is proud to announce the addition of two new associate members in the sport of men’s golf this year. Both Rosemont College and Wilson College will join the United East, expanding the number of conference members sponsoring the sport to a total of eight.
"We are pleased to welcome Rosemont College and Wilson College as our newest associate members of the United East," said United East Commissioner Stephanie Dutton. "While the addition of these two programs will continue to enhance the competitiveness of men's golf in our conference, we also look forward to providing each institution with a high-quality student-athlete experience throughout the year and at our championship events."
Both Rosemont and Wilson are full members of the Colonial States Athletics Conference (CSAC), which no longer sponsors the sport of men’s golf.
"Wilson College is excited to join the United East Conference in the sport of men's golf,” states Tina Hill, Director of Athletics at Wilson. “We're looking forward to the high-quality competition that will bring out the best of our student-athletes. We appreciate being welcomed in a league that values respect, sportsmanship, and athletic talent, but also celebrates success in the classroom. We can't wait to begin our new journey and watch our team develop into a championship caliber program in the United East Conference."
Last year, both squads played abbreviated schedules due to the coronavirus but were able to compete in the CSAC Championship Tournament where Rosemont finished first and Wilson finished third.
“We are excited about our Men’s golf team joining the United East,” announced Rosemont Director of Athletics, Joe Pavlow. “I want to thank Stephanie and the United East member institutions for welcoming us. This move will help us provide our students the experience we strive for.”
The Ravens and Phoenix will be joined by fellow associate member Rutgers University-Camden as well as full time members Penn College, Lancaster Bible, Penn State Harrisburg, Penn State Berks and Penn State Abington.
