READING, Pa. - The Penn State Berks women’s soccer team was crowned United East Champions after defeating Bryn Athyn, 3-0, Sunday afternoon at the Berks Turf Field. With the win, the squad also earns the automatic qualifier and will represent the conference in the upcoming 2023 NCAA Championship.
The Nittany Lions will learn who they square up against and where they are playing by way of the NCAA Selection Show which takes place on Monday at 1:30 p.m.

The Nittany Lions got on the scoreboard first as Maya Dolan finished a corner kick sent in by Diana Pon in the 11th minute. Bryn Athyn nearly evened things up with a shot from Kira Bradley moments later, but a kick save from Sophia Gonzalez maintained the lead.
After the half, Berks doubled its lead as Sara Hathaway used a long pass forward that connected with Adrianna Lepera. She then beat the keeper to make it 2-0 in the 50th minute. Paige Borkowski then added an additional goal in the 57th minute that was assisted on by Hathaway. Hathaway would be named the Most Valuable Player as she registered a pair of assists.
