Moses Beers (Jr. / Lancaster, Pa.) followed up his 2022 CSAC Player of the Year campaign with a repeat performance in 2023 being named the United East Player of the Year - Skye Division . Beers was the top offensive player for the Highlanders, tallying 11 goals and 4 assists on 74 shots, setting a new season-high in goals scored while leading Cairn to the No. 2 seed in this season’s tournament. Beers was a First-Team honoree in 2021 and 2022 while winning Player of the Week three times over his career.
Tai Torres (Jr. / Staten Island, NY) was named the United East Defensive Player of the Year - Skye Division after anchoring the defensive unit for Rosemont as the Ravens locked in an unbeaten conference regular season and Skye Division Championship in 2023. During the regular season, the Ravens only gave up 4 goals in 8 conference matches and a collective Goals Against Average of 0.867; good for 56th in all of NCAA Division III out of 411 men’s soccer programs. Torres earned Second Team honors in 2022 and First Team honors in 2021.
A massive first season has Sebastian Londono (FY / Hackensack, NJ) picking up United East Rookie of the Year - Skye Division honors for 2023. The first-year started in 17 of 19 matches and led the United East, all divisions, in Goals (22), Shots (91), Shots on Goal (53) and Total Points (47) in his debut campaign. Across all of NCAA Division III men’s soccer (411 teams), Londono is Top 10 in Goals (4th; 22), Total Points (8th; 47), Goals per Game (5th; 1.16), Points per Game (6th; 2.47), and Shots per Game (6th; 4.79).
Coach of the Year for 2023 was split between John Loiodice from Rosemont College and Frank Olszewski from Notre Dame of Maryland University. Loiodice led Rosemont to an unbeaten Skye Division campaign for the third straight season (2021 and 2022 within the CSAC). Buoyed by a stifling defense that only allowed 0.876 Goals per Game (56th out of 411 teams in NCAA Division III), the Ravens only allowed 4 goals in league play. Olszewski began the program at Notre Dame of Maryland in the fall of 2022 and, within one year, brought the Gators to a playoff appearance in the first season of varsity men’s soccer on campus.
