LATHAM, N.Y. - For the first time in conference history, the United East is rolling out its Team Academic Award. This acknowledgement is awarded to United East-sponsored programs that achieved a team GPA of a 3.25 or higher during the 2022-23 academic year.
This year, 46 teams from 11 different institutions earned this distinction. Penn College led all members with eight programs collecting Team Academic honors while Penn State Abington Women’s Cross Country topped all teams with a combined GPA of 3.67. Eleven of the 14 United East sponsored sports had at least one team earn the award with including six women's tennis team programs (the only sport to have every institution represented).
