LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East conference has announced its 2024 Women’s Volleyball All-Conference Teams. Each All-Conference team is made up of eleven student-athletes comprising five attackers, a libero, a setter, and four at-large selections.
Thirty-three individuals earned All-Conference status for their performances during the 2024 season and four major awards have been handed out including Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and Coach of the Year.
Thirteen out of the seventeen participating United East schools saw members of their teams awarded All-Conference with Gallaudet seeing six individuals earn All-Conference, including Player of the Year and Coach of the Year. Lancaster Bible College saw five individuals earn All-Conference, including the Defensive Player of Year and Rookie of the Year. Cairn University had four student-athletes earn All-Conference awards.
Penn State Harrisburg, Notre Dame of Maryland University, and Keystone College each saw three student-athletes earn All-Conference nods, respectively, while St. Mary’s College of Maryland and Cedar Crest College had two members pick up league awards. Penn State Abington, Bryn Athyn College, Wilson College, Penn State Berks, and Saint Elizabeth University all saw one student-athlete named All-Conference, respectively.

Coach of the Year - Lynn Ray Boren (Gallaudet University)
Gallaudet University’s Brielle Worley (So / Amarillo, Tx.) made an immediate impact with her debut season for the Bison as the sophomore led her squad to a perfect 10-0 league record, a regular season championship, and a record of 27-4 in the regular season. While Worley took the league by storm and finished as a top offensive performer, on the national level, Worley finished the regular season ranking 1st in NCAA Division III in Points (539.0), 1st in Total Kills (476), 2nd in Kills per Set (4.86), 2nd in Points per Set (5.50), and 6th in Total Attacks (1,046). Worley earned United East Offensive Player of the Week six separate times this season.
Leah Helman (Sr / Waynesboro, Pa.) has been named 2024 United East Women’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Year. This is the third-consecutive Defensive Player of the Year award for Helman, who was honored for both the 2022 and 2023 seasons. In 2024, Helman anchored the Chargers as they posted a 9-1 league record, second place in the United East regular season, and a 23-6 overall record. The senior libero topped the conference in total digs (163; 5.62 per set) in conference play. Nationally, Helman is 37th in the country with 5.31 digs per set and 30th with 64 service aces. Helman was named United East Defensive Player of the Week three separate times this season.
Madison Reap (FY / Gaithersburg, Md.) has been named the 2024 United East Women’s Volleyball Rookie of the Year. Reap had a monster debut season for Lancaster Bible College, finishing Top 10 in the United East hitting .297 with 59 kills (6th), 37 service aces (2nd), and averaging 3.48 points per set (7th) in ten league matches. Reap’s emergence helped the Chargers to a 9-1 league record, second place in the United East regular season, and a 23-6 overall record. Reap is currently 3rd in the country with 85 total service aces and 11th in the country with 0.76 Aces per Set.
Lynn Ray Boren has been voted United East Women’s Volleyball Coach of the Year for 2024. This season, Boren guided Gallaudet University to an unbeaten regular season (10-0), a regular season championship, and a 27-4 regular season. The Bison topped the league by hitting .373 as a team and limiting opponents to a -0.002 hitting percentage during league play. Additionally, Gallaudet averaged 18.38 points and 4.75 service aces per set. Six individuals earned All-Conference awards, including the Player of the Year. This is the third Coach of the Year award for Boren, who previously won in 2012 and 2023.
