Softball 5/13/2024 7:00:00 PM Penn College Softball Readies for NCAA Tournament INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Penn College will open the 2024 NCAA Softball Championship on Thursday at host, and No. 1 seed, Moravian University. The 62-team field was announced by the NCAA on Monday morning. Penn College (30-10) are the champions of the United East Conference and will take on the host and Landmark Conference champion Moravian Greyhounds (30-8), at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday in Bethlehem, Pa. The second matchup in the first round will feature Roanoke College (30-14) from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) taking on Muskingum University (28-13) from the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC). Penn College is playing in its second NCAA Tournament in program history; the first since 2021. Moravian has won its second-straight, and 11th overall, Landmark title and is building off of the appearance in the College World Series in 2023. Roanoke earned an at-large bid after a runner-up finish in the ODAC and is making their third-straight appearance, and 11th overall, in the NCAA Tournament. Muskingum also earned an at-large after going 1-2 in the OAC conference tournament. Games begin on Thursday, May 16th and will conclude on Sunday, May 19th with local sites setting game times.
