United East Players of the Week - October 6, 2025

LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East has announced its Players of the Week for the week ending on October 6, 2025. Eight players across five member institutions have been recognized for their accomplishments in the sports of men’s soccer, women’s soccer, women’s volleyball and field hockey.

  • Offensive Player of the Week

    Ami Mattingly / GR / Penn State Harrisburg / Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley

    Ami Mattingly turned in another record-breaking effort in helping lead Penn State Harrisburg to a 2-0 week. The fifth year opened the week by scoring both goals in the team's 2-1, come-from-behind, non-conference victory over Wilkes on Wednesday night and followed it up by resetting her own single-game program record for total points with eight thanks to a hat trick and a pair of assists in a win over Lancaster Bible in the conference opener on Saturday afternoon. Across the pair of victories, she racked up 12 total points behind five goals, including a pair of game-winning scores, and two helpers. 

    This marks the third weekly United East award for Mattingly of the season (9/15/25, 9/1/25).
     

    Defensive Player of the Week

    Erin Sullivan / SO / Wilson College / Byram, N.J. / Lenape Valley

    In the United East opener, Sullivan helped pitch another shutout for the Phoenix who have blanked the last three opponents. After Wilson jumped out to a fast start, Sullivan fended off the Falcons' comeback attempt by making four saves evenly split between the second and third quarters while avoiding any trouble on five penalty corners across that time.

    This is the first weekly award of the season for Sullivan and her second in her career (10/7/24)

  • Defensive Player of the Week

    Ashley Gordon / SO / Penn College / Pottstown, Pa. / Owen J. Roberts

    Gordon anchored a defensive back line that allowed just one goal and five shots on-goal in a 2-0-0 week against Keystone and Notre Dame. Against the Giants, Gordon and the defense held the Giants to zero shots in the first half while only playing 53 minutes. The sophomore defensive back also dished out two assists against the Gators on Saturday while leading the team to their eighth shutout of the season.

    This is the first weekly award of Gordon's career.

    Offensive Player of the Week

    Sara Darlington / SR / Penn College / West Chester, Pa. / Unionville

    Darlington had the hot foot for the Wildcats this week as she scored two hat-tricks in pair of victories at Keystone and against Notre Dame. In a 12-1 victory against the Giants, Darlington tallied six shots on-goal and converted on half of her chances with goals in the 9th, 71st and 77th minutes. In a 4-0 shutout against Notre Dame on Saturday, the senior forward netted the game's opening goal in the 21st minute and closed out the contest with two more goals in the 26th and 71st minutes to become the first Wildcat to reach the 10-goal mark this season.

    This is the first weekly award of Darlington's career.

  • Offensive Player of the Week

    Callan Stuck / FR / Penn State Berks / Reading, Pa. / Exeter Township

    Stuck heated up this past week; scoring four goals and helping Berks go in 2-1 including conference victories over Gallaudet and Wilson. After scoring a PK goal against Gwynedd Mercy, Stuck scored twice in the win over Gallaudet, including the opening goal seven minutes into the contest. Finally in Saturday's match up with Wilson College, Stuck scored the game's lone goal, blasting a shot from just outside the 18-yard box into the back of the net. 

    This marks the first weekly United East award of Stuck's career.

     

    Defensive Player of the Week

    Justin Crismale / FR / Penn College / Glen Gardner, N.J. / North Hunterdon

    Crismale went undefeated in a 1-0-1 week with six combined saves in net on the week. The freshman keeper turned away two shots in a 4-1 victory against Keystone on Wednesday. He recorded his conference-leading fifth shutout of the season in a scoreless draw against Notre Dame on Saturday where he stopped four shots. Crismale tops the league with a .800 goals against average and a .814 save percentage.

    This marks the first weekly United East award in Crismale's career.

  • Defensive Player of the Week

    Brianna Ondishin Ribon / JR / Penn State Harrisburg / Basking Ridge, N.J. / Ridge

    Brianna Ondishin Ribon led the way defensively for Penn State Harrisburg during the team's 3-0 week. The junior's efforts were key in a five-set victory at Lancaster Bible on Tuesday night, as she racked up a career-high 21 digs to go along with three total blocks in the win. She followed it up with eight more digs that complimented 15 kills in another conference win over St. Mary's (Md.) on Saturday before closing out the weekend with 19 more digs in a non-conference sweep of McDaniel. For the week, she tallied 48 digs and three blocks to go along with 32 kills and four service aces that resulted in 37.5 total points. 

    This is the first weekly award Ondishin Ribon's career.

    Offensive Player of the Week

    Ella Gamble / SR / Gallaudet University / Cullowhee, N.C. / Smoky Mountain

    Gallaudet University senior setter Ella Gamble orchestrated a masterful display of playmaking acumen, amassing an impressive 74 assists and delivering nine service aces over the past week as the Bison secured a flawless 2-0 mark in United East Conference competition. Gamble exhibited her tactical precision with 41 assists and a service ace in a decisive 3-0 sweep of Penn State-Abington on her home court. She followed that performance with an equally formidable outing on Saturday, where she distributed 33 assists and unleashed eight aces from the service line. To date, Gamble has compiled a remarkable 656 assists alongside 61 service aces across 18 matches, underscoring her indispensable role as both the strategic fulcrum of the Bison offense and a formidable force from the baseline.

    This marks the second weekly United East award of the season Gamble and her eighth in her career (9/8/25, 9/16/24, 11/6/23, 10/30/23, 10/16/23, 10/9/23, 9/18/23)
