United East Athletes of the Week - February 10, 2025

LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East conference has announced its Athletes of the Week for February 10, 2025.  Today will include Athletes of the Week for Men’s and Women’s Basketball as well as Men’s Volleyball.

This week’s selections included contests from Monday, February 3 through Sunday, February 9, 2025. A total of 6 student athletes were recognized for their performances.

  • Offensive Player of the Week

Jackson Wolfe / FY / Wilson College / Abbottstown, Pa. / New Oxford

Wolfe guided the Phoenix to a stellar week with a pair of sweeps and led the attack with some astronomical numbers. The 6-4 rookie totaled 32 kills and hit .419 over the six sets. In Sunday's opener with Hilbert, Wolfe was nothing but super as he put down 21 kills on just 32 attempts with no errors for a hitting percentage of .656. The 21 kills are tied for third for most in a three-set match in Division III while his .656 attack rate is sixth nationally for hitting percentage with a minimum of 20 attempts in a single match. Wolfe followed up with 11 kills in a sweep of Hood to avenge a five-set defeat at the hands of the Blazers last week. Defensively he was solid as well as he picked up eight digs and made five blocks, four of which came against Hood.

This is the first Player of the Week award for Wolfe in his career.

    Defensive Player of the Week

Wallace Hallot / SR / Pratt Institute / Miami, Fla. / Gulliver Prep

Wallace Hallot was a force at the net in Pratt’s 2-0 week averaging totaling 10 blocks (three solo). He stuffed four blocks (two solo) in a four-set win over York and added six blocks (one solo) in a straight-set triumph over CCNY. He also added five kills and an ace over those two matches.

This is the first Player of the Week award for Hallot in his career.

  • Offensive Player of the Week

Claire Ruiz -Tucker / SR / Gallaudet University / Middletown, Md. / Maryland School for the Deaf

Ruiz-Tucker had quite the week for the Bison that posted two conference wins. On Senior Day last Saturday, Ruiz-Tucker made 8-of-9 shots from the field and finished with 18 points and six assists in 26 minutes in a huge win for the buff and blue. Ruiz-Tucker was a perfect 8 for 8 from the field during last week's mid-week game at home against Penn St.-Berks. She led the team with 16 points scored in that rout as she only played 22 minutes. For the week she tallied 34 points, nine rebounds, nine assists, three steals and one block. The veteran guard shot 94 percent from the field (16 for 17).

This is the first career Player of the Week award for Ruiz-Tucker.

    Defensive Player of the Week

Cam Lexow / SO / Gallaudet University / Abington, Pa. / Abington

Lexow was a threat on both sides of the court last week for the surging Gallaudet Bison as they rolled to two lopsided conference wins. For the week, Lexow tallied 35 points, 15 assists, 12 rebounds, 10 steals, six blocks and shot 70 percent from the field and didn't commit a personal foul in 47 minutes played. Lexow led the way for GU last Saturday on Senior Day, which the graduate student was recognized during the pre-game. She finished with 20 points, 11 assists and was two steals shy of a triple-double with eight. Lexow's assists and steal totals are new career-high marks. Earlier in the week she tallied 15 points, nine rebounds, four assists, three blocks and two steals in 22 minutes against Penn St.-Berks.

This is the fourth Player of the Week award this season for Lexow and her fifth in her career.

  • Offensive Player of the Week

Amari Little / JR / Penn State Brandywine / Ellicott City, Md. / Marriotts Ridge

Little had a career-week as his offense helped lead Penn State Brandywine to a pair of conference victories. The junior hauled in 21 points in Wednesday's win over Saint Elizabeth, going a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc. He matched that with a 24-point performance against Penn State Abington on Saturday. Across those two contests he also dished out 10 dimes including a career-best eight in the week’s opener. He’d finish the week shooting 61.0% from the field, 70.0% from distance and 100% (10-10) from the charity stripe.

This is the second Player of the Week award for Little this season. He also earned the honor on week one, November 11, 2024.

    Defensive Player of the Week

Armani Jones / JR / Wilson College / Chicago, Ill. / Christ the King Prep

Jones was an anchor on the Phoenix defense as Wilson went 1-2 on the week. The junior averaged 10.0 boards per game, notching a week-high 15 in the win over Valley Forge. Jones added eight steals on top of that, producing a double-double in the midweek game against Penn State Harrisburg.

This is the second Player of the Week award for Jones this season. He also earned the honor on December 12, 2024.
