CLEVELAND, OHIO – Penn College fell, 5-0, to against No. 15 Wisconsin-Whitewater in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Cleveland Regional Thursday. The Wildcats dropped to 28-16, while the Warhawks improved to 36-6.
Penn College will play an elimination game Friday, 1:30 p.m., against Lebanon Valley, while Wis.-Whitewater will take on Case Western at 11 a.m. The second elimination game is scheduled for 4 p.m.
The Warhawks plated all five of their runs in the fifth inning while using a no-hit performance from Josie Hammen to keep the Wildcats off the board. Mackenzie Weaver took the loss in the circle, going 2.1 innings.
