Ami Mattingly / Gr / Penn State Harrisburg / Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley

In her first game with Penn State Harrisburg, the fifth-year player scored three times, including the game winner, in a decisive 5-0 win over Albright on Friday afternoon. She added a helper to set the single-game program record for total points (7). The forward followed it up with her second three-goal game in as many outings, converting her second game-winning marker of the weekend in a comfortable 4-0 victory over Goucher on Sunday afternoon. Across the pair of wins, the Mechanicsburg, Pa. native twice matched the program’s single-game goals recorded (3) en route to racking up 13 total points on six markers, including two game-winning scores, and one assist.
This marks the first ever weekly United East award for Mattingly.
Defensive Player of the Week
Sara Yeselavage / So / Penn State Harrisburg / Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin
Sara Yeselavage was the defensive catalyst for Penn State Harrisburg in a pair of shutout victories to begin the season. In a 5-0 season-opening win on Saturday afternoon, the center back turned away all potential comers and kept Albright from getting off a single shot. In a 4-0 victory over Goucher two days later, the sophomore continued to make life easy on goalkeeper Macenzie Mulholland by stifling the Gophers offense to the tune of just one shot on goal. Thanks to her efforts, Penn State Harrisburg allowed just three total attempts and just one shot on frame across the pair of shutout wins.
This marks the first ever weekly United East award for Yeselavage.
