Fourth Annual United Feast Brings Record Breaking 8,200 Donations

LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East completed its fourth annual “United Feast” initiative organized by the members of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) this past week. The initiative had each of the 14 individual members of the United East collect canned goods and other non-perishables for local food shelves over the course of the week.

All 14 member institution SAAC groups excelled in the United Feast’s roll out as together, the schools combined to collect 8,247 food items, eclipsing last year’s by almost 1,000 items. A new institution earned the title of top donation collectors as Penn College brought in 1,307 canned goods and other non-perishables. Find the full list of winners by year below:

Year Institution Total Donations
2026 Penn College 1,307
2025 Lancaster Bible College 1,903
2024 Lancaster Bible College 3,129
2023 Penn State Abington 995

"I'm proud that our SAAC and everyone involved at Penn College was able to come together to make such a big impact on our community through the United Feast," stated Hunter Gabloff, member of the Penn College SAAC group and the Wildcat men's soccer team. "It is such a big accomplishment for us and shows what our school can do when we come together for a bigger cause."

Five members were able to hit the 1,000 item mark including Penn College. Cedar Crest was only 30 items behind with 1287 donations while last year’s winners, Lancaster Bible College, rounded out the podium with 1255. Penn State Harrisburg (1080) and St. Mary’s College of Maryland (1069) both hit that 1000 mark as well. Additionally, three other schools notched over 500 items (University of Valley Forge, Penn State Berks, Penn State Abington).

“This is one of our favorite initiatives we put on and I continue to be blown away by the outcome,” mentioned Sam Carges, Associate Commissioner of the United East. “Our SAAC members have proven why they are not only leaders on their teams but also their surrounding communities.”
