United East Players of the Week - September 14, 2026

LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East conference has announced its Athletes of the Week for September 14, 2026.  Today will include Athletes of the Week for Field Hockey, Men’s Soccer, Women’s Soccer and Women’s Volleyball.

This week’s selections included contests from Monday, September 6 through Sunday, September 13.  A total of eight student-athletes from 5 different member institutions were recognized for their performances.

Field Hockey
Offensive Player of the Week
Astrid Comp / JR / Penn State Harrisburg / Enola, Pa. / Bishop McDevitt

Astrid Comp played a key role in Penn State Harrisburg’s dramatic 3-2 overtime comeback victory over Goucher on Sunday. The junior assisted on the Lions’ opening goal before delivering the game-winner just 30 seconds into overtime, scoring in transition to complete the comeback. Comp finished the contest with three points on a goal and an assist, helping Penn State Harrisburg erase a late deficit and secure the overtime victory.

Defensive Player of the Week
Caroline McDonald / SR / St. Mary’s College of Maryland / Frederick, Md. / Tuscarora

Caroline McDonald turned in a pair of strong performances in goal for St. Mary’s College of Maryland against a challenging non-conference slate. McDonald opened the week with a career-high 16 saves in a 2-0 setback at York (Pa.), including eight stops in the third quarter alone. She followed with seven saves in 45 minutes of action against No. 21 Washington & Lee, finishing the week with 23 saves across the two contests.
 
Men’s Soccer
Offensive Player of the Week
Alijah Miller / SR / Cairn University / Monroe, NC / Homeschool

Alijah Miller totaled five goals and two assists while helping Cairn University post an unbeaten 2-0-1 record across three contests. Miller recorded multiple points in each match, highlighted by a goal and an assist in a 3-3 draw against Lebanon Valley College. He also scored twice in a 12-0 victory over Penn State Hazleton before adding two goals and an assist in a 6-0 win over Penn State Schuylkill. Miller finished the week with 12 points, contributing to seven goals during the Highlanders’ unbeaten stretch.

Gerson Navarro / SR / Wilson College / Manassas Park, Va. / Manassas Park

Gerson Navarro was outstanding in goal for Wilson College, recording an eight-save shutout in a scoreless draw against Goucher in his lone appearance of the week. His performance helped the Phoenix earn their first result against Goucher in the all-time series between the two programs.
 
Women’s Soccer
Offensive Player of the Week
Ella Quince / SO / Cairn University / Morrisville, Pa. / Morrisville

Ella Quince totaled five goals and two assists while leading Cairn University to a pair of victories this week. Quince scored twice against Penn State Schuylkill before recording a hat trick against John Jay, including an early equalizer to bring the Highlanders level. She also netted the game-winning goal in both contests. Quince finished the week with 12 points, accomplishing all of her offensive production in just 106 minutes of action.

Breanna Brown / SO / St. Mary’s College of Maryland / Arnold, Md. / Broadneck

Breanna Brown earned United East Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second consecutive week after totaling 12 saves across two contests for St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Brown opened the week by allowing just one goal and making one save in a 1-1 draw against Stevenson. She followed with a season-high 11 saves in a 2-0 setback against Lynchburg, keeping the Seahawks within striking distance despite facing consistent pressure throughout the contest.

Women’s Volleyball

Offensive Player of the Week
Brielle Worley / SR / Gallaudet University / Amarillo, TX / Amarillo

Brielle Worley powered Gallaudet University to a perfect 3-0 week, recording double-digit kills in each of the Bison’s three straight-set victories. The senior outside hitter totaled 45 kills and averaged 5.00 kills per set, highlighted by a 20-kill performance in a sweep at Hood. Worley followed with 12 kills against Saint Elizabeth before closing the week with 13 kills at Sweet Briar. Her offensive production helped Gallaudet improve to 6-0, marking the program’s best start during Head Coach Lynn Ray Boren’s tenure.

Defensive Player of the Week
Bri Eilderts / GS / Gallaudet University / Omaha, Neb. / Marian

Bri Eilderts anchored Gallaudet University’s defense at the net during a perfect 3-0 week, totaling nine blocks across nine sets as the Bison earned three consecutive straight-set victories. The graduate student middle hitter averaged 1.00 block per set, highlighted by five block assists against Saint Elizabeth. She added two block assists against both Hood and Sweet Briar, helping Gallaudet improve to 6-0 for its best start during Head Coach Lynn Ray Boren’s tenure.
