About the United East

The United East Conference is home to 14 member institutions which compete at the highest level of NCAA Division III athletics. Founded in 2004 as the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC), the United East has seen its membership evolve to one that now emcompasses schools in Maryland, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia.

In addition to ranging from urban to rural campuses, the United East prides itself on being one of the most diverse conference in Division III. It is comprised of both public and private schools as well as faith-based institutions, technical colleges and the largest deaf and hard-of-hearing institution in the United States.

The 14 core members consist of Cairn University, Cedar Crest College, Gallaudet University, Keystone College, Lancaster Bible College, Notre Dame of Maryland University, Penn College, Penn State Abington, Penn State Berks, Penn State Brandywine, Penn State Harrisburg, St. Mary's College of Maryland, University of Valley Forge, and Wilson College

Mission & Purpose

The mission of the United East Conference is to support its member institutions in their commitment to intercollegiate athletics by adhering to the NCAA Division III philosophy in a way that allows athletics to work in harmony with the educational mission of its member institutions. The United East hosts meaningful competitive opportunities while also upholding the highest standards of good sportsmanship, encouraging widespread campus involvement, promoting civic engagement and ensuring continued academic success for its student-athletes.
