2008 Men's Soccer Pre-Season Coaches' Poll
CSAC Coaches Select Cavaliers as Men’s Soccer Pre-Season Favorite
Aston, Pa. –
Cabrini College’s Men’s Soccer team has been selected as the pre-season favorite in the
Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) coaches’ poll. Third-place finishers in the 2007 conference championship, the
Cavaliers received four of nine possible first place votes, earning 73 points to secure the top spot over
Philadelphia Biblical University.
“In the inaugural year of the CSAC, we are extremely proud and honored to be voted the pre-season favorite in a very competitive league,” said Cavalier
Head Coach Glen Jaskelewicz. “I think it’s a testament to our seniors over the last two years and their impact on the continuing improvement of our program. We look forward to living up to this expectation.”
Philadelphia Biblical University earned a total of 61 points for a strong second place showing in their first year in the conference.
Neumann College was selected third with 56 points.
Centenary College received 53 points for a fourth place finish.
Gwynedd-Mercy College and
Immaculata University tied for fifth place with 40 points each.
Baptist Bible College (30),
Keystone College (28) and
Marywood University (24) rounded out the voting.
The 2008 CSAC Championship begins with quarterfinal action on Tuesday, November 4th. The
CSAC Championship Game is set for Saturday, November 8th at the highest remaining seed.

Jimmy Corey (Fr., Forward, Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial) was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending November 2nd.
Corey recorded two goals and two assists as the
Cyclones went 1-1 in CSAC play for the week.

Mighty Macs to a win over Gwynedd-Mercy.

Neumann College’s
Jesse Urquhart (Sr., Forward, Erial, NJ/Timber Creek) was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending October 26th.
Urquhart recorded four goals this week, including the game-winning goals in both contests and three goals on three shots against Philadelphia Biblical University. His game-winning goal over Gwynedd-Mercy College helped the
Knights extend their win streak to three.

Kieran Keelan, Immaculata University (Sr., Forward, Broomall, Pa. / DELCO Christian) tallied a hat trick in the
Mighty Macs win over Centenary College, one goal 10 seconds into the second half and the game-winning goal in the 60th minute.
Mike Leonard, Gwynedd-Mercy College (Fr., GK, Glen Mills, Pa. / Cardinal O’Hara) won his third game in five career starts, making seven saves to help the team to a 3-1 win over Keystone College, and keeping the
Griffins in the playoff hunt.

Marywood University’s
Jared El-Gayeh (Fr., GK, Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Men’s Soccer Co-Player of the Week for the week ending October 19th.
El-Gayeh recorded 13 saves for the week, including five saves in a 2-0 win over Centenary, leading the
Pacers to a 2-0 week in conference play. The win marked the third shutout for the freshman goalie and set a new program record for individual goalkeeper shutouts in a season.
El-Gayeh finished the week with a .929 save percentage and a 0.50 goals against average.
Immaculata University’s
Zach Oas (Fr., GK, Newtown Square, Pa. /Great Valley) was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Men’s Soccer Co-Player of the Week for the week ending October 19th.
Oas recorded 12 saves for the week, including five in a shutout victory over Philadelphia Biblical and seven in a 2-1 overtime loss to Marywood, helping the
Mighty Macs to a 1-1 week in conference play.
Oas finished the week with a .857 save percentage and 0.90 goals against average.

Jonathan Waszaj, Philadelphia Biblical University (Sr., Forward, East Brunswick, NJ/Timothy Christian), scored two goals within 2:02 of each other to help the
Crimson Eagles to a 4-1 win over Keystone College.

Zach Oas (Fr., GK, Newtown Square/Great Valley) was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Men’s Soccer Co-Player of the Week for the week ending October 12th.
Oas recorded 15 saves for the week, including five in a shutout victory over Neumann, helping the
Mighty Macs to a 1-1 week in conference play.
Oas finished the week with a .882 save percentage and a 1.00 goals against average.
Gwynedd-Mercy College’s
Mike Leonard (Fr., GK, Glen Mills, Pa./ Cardinal O’Hara) was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Men’s Soccer Co-Player of the Week for the week ending October 12th.
Leonard tallied 12 saves for the week, including seven in the
Griffin’s first conference win of the season.
Leonard finished the week with a .857 save percentage and a 1.00 goals against average.

Andrew Jacobs, Cabrini College (Jr., Midfield, Havre de Grace, Md./Havre de Grace), scored two goals in 59 seconds, including the game-winner, to lead the
Cavaliers to a 2-0 week in conference play.

Immaculata University’s
Kieran Keelan (Sr., Forward, Broomall, Pa. /DELCO Christian) was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending October 5th.
Keelan recorded his second hat trick of the season in an 8-0 shutout of Baptist Bible College, becoming the first
Mighty Mac player to record two in his career and notching only the fifth hat trick in program history. His three goals contributed to the largest offensive output of the season.
Honor Roll
Evan Hanauer, Cabrini College (Jr., M, Royersford, Pa. /Spring-Ford), notched four points on one goal and two assists in the
Cavalier’s win over Centenary College.
Chuck Rudolph, Neumann College (Sr., Midfield, Atco, NJ/Hammonton) scored two goals against PSU-Abington, including the game-winner, and recorded a goal against conference rival, Marywood.

Brett Megee (Fr., Midfield, Easton, Pa./Notre Dame Green Pond) was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending September 28th.
Megee recorded his first two collegiate goals, including the game winner in the
Pacers conference win over Philadelphia Biblical University. The win set a new program record for number of wins in a season.

Zach Oas, Immaculata University (Fr., GK, Newtown Square, Pa./Great Valley), recorded his first collegiate shutout against Ursinus, making five saves and helping the
Mighty Macs go 1-0 for the week.
Matt Winkler, Centenary College (Fr., Midfield, Great Meadows, NJ/Hackettstown), scored two game winning goals against Brooklyn College and York (NY) College, as the
Cyclones went 2-0 for the week.

Philadelphia Biblical University’s
Andy Ecker (So., GK, Abbotstown, Pa./New Oxford) was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending September 21st.
Ecker recorded his first two shutouts of the season for the
Crimson Eagles, against Arcadia and Valley Forge Christian College. So far this season, he is allowing just 1.33 goals per game, with a .820 save percentage.
Honor Roll
Kieran Keelan, Immaculata University (Sr., Forward, Broomall, Pa./DELCO Christian), assisted the
Mighty Macs to the team’s first win of the season by scoring against Rowan, and followed that up with a hat trick versus PSU-Berks.
Chris Hill, Centenary College (Sr., Forward, Flanders, NJ/Gil St. Bernards), scored two goals in the win over Mount Saint Mary’s, becoming the
Cyclones Men’s Soccer All-Time leading scorer.

Jonathan Waszaj (Sr., D, East Brunswick, NJ/Timothy Christian) was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending September 14th.
Waszaj recorded not only his first collegiate goal against conference rival Baptist Bible, but his second and third goals to notch his first hat trick.
Honor Roll
Bob Mastrillo, Neumann College (Fr., GK, Tabernacle, NJ/Seneca) recorded his first collegiate shutout against Stevenson University, making 6 saves, including two breakaway saves, helping the
Knights to their second tie of the season.

Cabrini College’s
Justin McCall (Jr., F, Brookhaven, Pa./Sun Valley) was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week endings September 7th.
McCall’s hat trick against DeSales University and two goals versus Wesley, including the game-winning goals in both contests, helped the
Cavaliers to a 2-0-0 week (4-0-0 overall).
Honor Roll
Chris Hill, Centenary College, (Sr., F, Flanders, NJ/Gil St. Bernard) scored four goals, including the game-winning goal against Alfred University and the game-tying goal versus Lycoming as the
Cyclones opened the season with a 2-1-1 record.
Sean O’Day, Marywood University (Jr., D, Edwardsville, Pa./Bishop O’Reilly) scored the game-winning goal versus Baptist Bible, in the
Pacer’s first conference win since 2005.
