2000 Field Hockey PAC Coaches' Pre-Season Poll
Dallas, PA— Wesley is the favorite to win the 2000 Pennsylvania Athletic Conference field hockey championship, according a pre-season coach's poll. The Wolverines received 10 first place votes and one second place vote to earn 120 total points.
"We're flattered to be voted number one by the PAC coaches," said Wesley head coach Tracey Short. "We've lost in the PAC finals the last two years, so we know we've got some work to do. We'd like to get back to the finals and finish the job this season." Wesley won the last two PAC regular season titles, but was upset in the finals both years.
Defending PAC champion Gwynedd-Mercy had 101 points and is picked to finish second. Cabrini, a PAC semi-finalist a year ago, is picked third with 97 points. Eastern, another PAC semi-finalist last season, received one first place vote and is fourth with 93 points. Misericordia rounds out the top five with 84 points.
