Aston, Pa. - Two Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Women's Soccer Teams were awarded Team Academic Awards by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), as announced by the NSCAA office this week.

Marywood University and Cedar Crest College were both honored for their academic performance during the 2007-2008 academic year. The Team Academic Award is given to teams earning above a 3.0 team grade point average and was given to 364 teams at the NCAA Division I, II and III and junior college levels.

In all, 260 women's teams and 104 men's teams earned the award. Only 59 institutions had both the men's and women's teams represented on the list.

This is the fifth NSCAA Team Academic Award for Marywood, who were also recognized in 2002, 2005, 2006 and 2007. During the 2007-2008 academic year, the Pacers posted a 3.31 team grade point average.

The Cedar Crest College Falcons brought home their first ever NSCAA Team Academic Award, posting a 3.24 team grade point average for the 2007-2008 academic year.

Aston, Pa. -- Two Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) teams were awarded Team Ethics Awards by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

The Neumann College Knights were awarded the NSCAA Team Ethics Gold Award for having zero red and zero yellow cards during the 2008 season.

The Marywood Pacers received the Team Ethics Silver Award for the second consecutive year, after finishing their 2008 championship season with zero red and four yellow cards.

Any team that receives zero red cards may be nominated for the Team Ethics Award. The Gold Award is given to teams that accumulate no cards at all; the Silver Award honors teams that drew 1-5 yellow cards; and the Bronze Award is given to teams with 6-10 yellow cards.
