2000 Women's Soccer Pre-Season Coaches' Poll
Arcadia Picked to Repeat in PAC Women's Soccer
Dallas, PA? Defending champion Arcadia University is a slight favorite to win the 2000 Pennsylvania Athletic Conference women's soccer championship, according to a pre-season coach's poll. Arcadia and Cabrini were tied with 72 total points, but the Scarlet Knights earned the top ranking with five first- place votes. "It's a positive reflection on our program to be picked to repeat as PAC champions," said Arcadia head coach Art Goon. "We face a tough challenge as there are several teams capable of winning the league this year. This could be the most exciting season ever in the PAC." Cabrini, the PAC regular season champions a year ago, received three first-place votes and is picked second.
Eastern, a PAC semi-finalist last season, had one first-place vote and is third with 70 points. College Misericordia, the PAC runner-up last year, is fourth with 59 points while Gwynedd-Mercy is fifth with 46 points in their first season of PAC competition.
