2014-15 CSAC Players of the Week

November 17, 2014

Dom Scafidi / Sr / Rosemont College / Clementon, NJ / Triton Regional

Scafidi had a scalding start to the season. On Saturday, he scored 28 points with 17 rebounds (tying a program single-game rebounding record) for a double-double. He followed that up on Sunday with 23 points and five boards. Scafidi was named MVP of the Rose City Tip-Off Tournament as his team won the championship of the tournament.

Aaron Walton-Moss / Sr / Cabrini University / Camden, N.J. / Camden HS

Walton-Moss led Cabrini to a 3-0 record, averaging 18 points, 13.7 rebounds and 8 assists. The senior recorded a triple double (20 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists) in a 91-85 win over Eastern. He narrowly missed another against Purchase with 17 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists in a 90-65 win over Purchase. The senior closed the week with a 17 point, 17 rebound, 6 assist performance, leading Cabrini to a 68-61 win over No. 12 WPI.

Elleby netted a career-high 25 points in just 23 minutes of action on 8-of-9 shooting in a 112-74 CSAC opening win on Tuesday over Keystone. It was his second 20-point game of the season. He also added six boards, four assists and a pair of blocks for the Griffins.

Mamadou Diakite / Sr / Immaculata University / Philadelpha, Pa. / Constitution

Diakite averaged 20.5 points and 11.0 rebounds in two Immaculata wins to help the Mighty Macs move to 3-0 in CSAC play this season. He started with a career-high 27 points and his seventh double-double with 13 rebounds while scoring the game-winning basket as time expired against Rosemont in a 65-64 victory. On Saturday, he added 14 points and nine boards in a 66-63 triumph over Baptist Bible.

Justin Knight / Sr. / Gwynedd Mercy University / Mays Landing, N.J. / Oakcrest

Knight was named the MVP of the Monarch Classic hosted by King's College last weekend. In Friday's 66-42 win over the hosts, Knight went for 12 points on 5-of-9 (2-of-3 3FG) shooting along with three assists, two rebounds, a block and a steal. In Saturday's win over Wilkes, Knight netted a season-high 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting, including a 3-for-5 effort from downtown. Knight also filled the stat sheet with seven rebounds, four steals, three assists and a block.

Mamadou Diakite / Sr / Immaculata University / Philadelpha, Pa. / Constitution

Diakite collected his second double-double in his last four games and eighth of his career with 21 points and 10 rebounds in the team's come-from-behind 65-62 victory over Alvernia. He connected on 8-of-12 from the floor and 5-of-9 from the foul line. In the last four games, Diakite is averaging 20.8 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.

Nadir Stukes / Sr / Rosemont College / Philadelphia, Pa / Engineering & Sciences

Senior captain Nadir Stukes stoked the Ravens to the program's first win over Cabrini. Stukes' shot 50% from the floor and tallied a career-high 19 points to lead the Ravens in the contest. Stukes also dished out six assists in the 85-78 win over the Cavaliers.

Ron Melton / Jr / Immaculata University / Philadelphia, Pa. / Winslow Township

Melton helped the Mighty Macs knock off Cabrini and Gwynedd Mercy to stay unbeaten in CSAC play at 5-0. Melton averaged 21.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists and shooting 52% from the field. He scored a career-high 24 points in the team's come-from-behind win over Cabrini on Wednesday night, and followed that up with 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists in the home victory over Gwynedd Mercy.

Walton-Moss averaged a triple-double last week to lead the Cavaliers to wins over Marywood and Rosemont. The senior led a short-handed Cavaliers squad to an 86-82 win at Marywood with 25 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. In the team’s 103-70 win over Rosemont, Walton-Moss tallied 10 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists, matching a program record.

January 26, 2014
Dan Candemeres / Sr / Keystone College / Holbrook, N.Y. / Sachem East

After scoring 10 points and dishing out five assists in a key, 95-93 victory at Cabrini on Monday night, Candemeres scored a career-high 27 pts, including the 1,000th of his career, in a 94-92 loss at Marywood. The 17th player in program history to reach the 1,000-point plateau, closed out his week with a team-leading 15 points in an 88-60 win over Cairn on Saturday as the Giants went 2-1 on the week.

February 2, 2015
Cedric Elleby / So / Gwynedd Mercy University / Monroeville, N.J. / Delsea

Elleby averaged double figures in scoring and rebounding while shooting 60.0% from the floor in a 2-0 week. On Wednesday at Cairn, he would go for 11 points and eight boards. Saturday saw him tie a career-high with 16 rebounds along with 18 points, both game highs, in the home win over Rosemont in a battle for the top spot in the league.

Aaron Walton-Moss / Sr / Cabrini University / Camden, N.J. / Camden HS

Walton-Moss averaged nearly a triple-double last week, recording 29.5 points, 14 rebounds and 8.5 assists. In a win over Baptist Bible, the senior notched his sixth triple double of the season with 36 points on 16-22 from the floor, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. He nearly had another on Saturday, leading Cabrini to a win at Keystone with 23 points, a season-high 17 rebounds and seven assists.

Darnell Artis / Jr / Gwynedd Mercy University / Philadelphia, Pa. / LaSalle College HS

Artis was instrumental in the Griffins' two wins last week. In Wednesday's 67-62 win over Centenary, he finished with 16 points, a career-high seven rebounds and six assists, hitting two three-pointers and going 6-for-8 at the free-throw line. Saturday saw him go for 21 points on 6-of-12 shooting (3-of-6 from downtown) and 6-for-7 at the charity stripe.
