2008 PAC Men’s Lacrosse Coaches' Pre-Season Poll
PAC Coaches Unanimously Select Cavaliers as Pre-Season Men’s Lacrosse Favorite
Aston, PA – Cabrini College’s men’s lacrosse team has been selected as the pre-season favorite in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) coaches’ poll. The defending conference champion Cavaliers received all nine possible first-place votes for a total of 81 points to finish ahead of Shenandoah University.
“It is always a great honor to be recognized by your peers,” said Head Coach Steve Colfer. “We look forward to defending our 2007 PAC Championship. I know there will be may challenges in doing so this year.”
Under the guidance of Colfer, the Cavaliers have won seven straight conference titles and 6 NCAA berths, advancing to the second round of the Division III NCAA Tournament last season. The Cavaliers have been undefeated in the PAC since Colfer took the reins in 2001, with an incredible 55-0 record against PAC opponents. Last season, the team was ranked 10th in the nation by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association.
Shenandoah University earned a total of 70 points to finish in second place in the poll. Eastern University was selected third with 64 points.
Misericordia University (54), Alvernia College (39), Centenary College (39), Neumann College (25), Immaculata University (21), and Marywood University (12) rounded out the voting.
The 2008 PAC Championship begins with semifinal action on Wednesday, April 30th. The PAC Championship Game is set for Saturday, May 3rd.

Player of the Week
Centenary College’s Brian Triolo (Jr., GK, Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central) was named the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week for the week ending April 27th. Triolo recorded 31 saves and allowed just 14 goals in two games, helping the team to a perfect 2-0 (1-0 PAC) week and propelling the team to the conference playoffs.
Honor Roll
Tom Hartney, Immaculata University (So., M/A, Norwood, Pa./Interboro) notched nine goals and four ground balls in two games as the Mighty Macs went 0-2 in PAC play for the week.
Casey Grugan, Cabrini College (So., A, Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) led the Cavaliers to a 1-0 PAC week with eight goals and two assists.

Cabrini College’s Scott Reimer (Jr., A, Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) was named the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week for the week ending April 20th. Reimer recorded 9 goals and 1 assist, including two goals in the Cavalier’s win over #6 Haverford, helping the team go 2-0 (1-0 PAC) for the week.

Brian Triolo, Centenary College (Jr., GK, Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central) recorded 27 saves in two games, leading the Cyclones to an undefeated week in conference play.
William Roerden, Marywood University (Fr., A, Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) led the Pacers to a 2-1 (1-0 PAC) week with six goals and two assists.

Eastern University’s Ben O’Donnell (Sr., M/A, Syracuse, NY/Faith Heritage) was named the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week for the week ending April 13th. O’Donnell recorded seven goals, two assists, five turnovers and 11 groundballs, helping the Eagles go 2-0 in PAC play for the week.
Honor Roll
Andrew Sim, Immaculata University (So., GK, Prospect Park, Pa./Interboro) recorded 36 saves in two games, including 13 in a win over Alvernia. Sim also collected six ground balls versus Alvernia.
Kyle Gardner, Neumann College (So., A, Collegeville, Pa./Moravian) tallied seven goals and one assist, as well as three groundballs, as the Knights went 0-2 in PAC play for the week.

Player of the Week
Immaculata University’s Andrew Sim (So., GK, Prospect Park, Pa./Interboro) was named the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week for the week ending March 30th. Sim had 17 saves in one game, for a .773 save percentage, leading the team to its first victory in the history of the two year program and halting a 15-game losing streak.
Honor Roll
Rodney Mattison, Shenandoah University (Jr., GK, Pasadena, Md./Anne Arundel CC) had 19 saves (.404) as the Hornets defeated Hood.

Player of the Week
Cabrini College’s Kevin Chenoweth (Jr., GK, Coronado, Calif./Coronado) was named the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week for the week ending March 23rd. Chenoweth had 22 saves in two games, for a save percentage of .550, including eight saves in an overtime loss to number two Gettysburg College.

Richard Michael, Shenandoah University (Fr., A, Oakton, Va./Oakton) had eight goals and one assist, helping the Hornets go 1-0 in PAC play on the week.
William Roerden, Marywood University (Fr., M, Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) had five goals and one assist, helping the Pacers go 1-0 in PAC play on the week and remain unbeaten in their inaugural season.

Cabrini College’s Scott Reimer (Jr./A, Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) was named the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week for the week ending March 16th. Reimer scored 12 goals and added 3 assists in a 4-0 (1-0 PAC) start to the season. Reimer averaged three goals per game, helping the Cavaliers to a #7 national ranking.
