2022 CSAC Men’s Lacrosse Preseason Coaches’ Poll
KEAN THE TOP PICK IN 2022 CSAC MEN'S LACROSSE PRESEASON COACHES POL
VILLANOVA, Pa. – Kean University was picked to defend its men’s lacrosse title as the Cougars were the top pick in the 2022 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) preseason coaches’ poll released on Wednesday afternoon.
The Cougars, received 46 points and four first-place votes. Stockton University, who advanced to the title game in 2021, was second with 44 points and three first-place votes.
Montclair State University was third with 36 points, followed by Rosemont College in fourth place with 25 points.
Bryn Athyn College was fifth with 24 points, followed by Keystone College in sixth with 11 points and Cairn University in seventh with 10 points.
The top four teams will battle for the CSAC title starting on Tuesday, May 3, with the championship scheduled for Saturday, May 7. The winner will receive the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

In the first two games of the season, Poli had five goals and three assists for eight points. Had six ground balls and four caused turnovers in two games.

Swedlund scored 15 goals with four assists in a 3-0 week. The senior eclipsed the 300 point barrier against Arcadia and is the 1st player in Stockton history to achieve that milestone. He leads the CSAC in goals (60) and goals per game (4.29 gpg). He needs 33 goals to break the all-time NCAA D3 record.

2022 CSAC Championship Information
VILLANOVA, Pa. – The 2022 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Men’s Lacrosse Championship is set to start on Tuesday night with four teams vying for the title and the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
Both games are set to start at 7 p.m., as top-seed Stockton (14-2) plays host to fourth-seed Rosemont (8-9), while second-seed Montclair State (11-3) will host Kean (10-5). The winners of Tuesday night contests will meet on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. for the CSAC title. The game will be played at the highest remaining seed.
Stockton, who won the title in 2019, went a perfect 6-0 in conference play this year. Back on April 16, the Ospreys defeated Rosemont 28-3 in Southern New Jersey.
Montclair, who advanced to the title game in 2019, defeated Kean last Wednesday by a score of 16-11. Kean won the 2021 title, with a victory over Stockton.
Fans attending the Montclair-Kean game Tuesday night are reminded that tickets will be $5 for adults and $3 for students. There will be no charge for admission at the Stockton-Rosemont contest.

STOCKTON CAPTURES 2022 MLAX CHAMPIONSHIP WITH 25-8 WIN OVER MONTCLAIR
GALLOWAY, N.J. – Homestanding and top seed Stockton University (16-2) raced out to a commanding 11-1 lead after one quarter and never looked back at the Ospreys captured the 2022 Colonial States Athletic Conference Men’s Lacrosse Championship with a 25-8 win over Montclair State (12-5) on Saturday afternoon.
The Ospreys captured their second CSAC championship and will represent the CSAC in the 2022 NCAA Tournament.
Championship MVP Luc Swedlund scored seven goals, while Sean Haddock and Reegan Capozzoli each scored four for the Ospreys who fired off 49 shots on the afternoon.
Tyler Horvath netted ten ground balls and was 19-for-28 on faceoffs for Stockton.
For Montclair, Mike McCreery and Matt Dancsecs each scored two goals, while Tyler McCreery handed out two assists.
In goal, Osprey netminder Eric Lindskog made five saves while David Metzger made ten saves for Montclair.

2022 CSAC Men's Lacrosse End-of-Year Awards

VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) is proud to announce its 2022 Men’s Lacrosse End of Year Awards. These awards include All-CSAC (First-Team, Second-Team, Honorable Mention and All-Sportsmanship), as well as Player, Defensive, Rookie of the Year and the 3-D Award.
The student-athletes are nominated by their coaches, who then vote on the team. The coaches are not permitted to vote for their own players.
Player of the Year went to Stockton University junior attack
Dante Poli. Poli, a first-team All-CSAC selection, led the team in assists with 53 and was the top point scorer on the team with 103 points (50g, 53a). He recorded a season-high 12 points in a win over Neumann back on March 30.
Defensive Player of the Year went to Montclair State University graduate student and long stick midfielder
Wilson Smith. Smith, a first-team All-CSAC selection, he led the Red Hawks with 36 caused turnovers and was third on the team with 58 ground balls. He had a season-high six caused turnovers in a win over Kean.
Rookie of the Year honors went to Kean University freshman attack
Nick Thorne. Thorne had a season-high six points in a win over Keystone on April 20.
Coach of the Year honors went to Stockton head coach
Kevin Zulauf. Zulauf led the Ospreys to a 14-2 mark and a perfect 6-0 slate in the CSAC. The Ospreys are the number 1 seed in the upcoming CSAC playoffs for the third straight time.
The 3-D Award went to
Cairn University. Implemented for the 2011-12 academic year, the Colonial States Athletic Conference 3D Award replaced the CSAC Team Sportsmanship Award. The 3D Award recognizes the teams in each sport that best demonstrate the NCAA Division-III philosophy of "Discover, Develop, Dedicate." The 3D Award was conceived and developed by the CSAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Cairn, in its first year as a varsity program, went 3-9 overall and 2-4 in the CSAC.
