Wesley Golf Earns Regional & National Honors
Chris Noll (So, Dover, DE/Dover), the first round leader of the NCAA Division III Golf Championship, was named a Ping-All American. Noll and teammates Andy Ferrario (Sr, Wilmington, DE/Concord), Adam Frank (Jr, Highland, PA/Fairfield), PAC Tourney champion Zac Oakley (Fr, Lewes, DE/Greenwood Mennonite) were aslo named to the All-Mid-Atlantic Region Team. Wolverine head coach Rick McCall also was named Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year, to go along with his PAC Coach of the Year honor.

17th Ranked Wolverines to Represent PAC at NCAA Division III National Tournament for 3rd Straight Year
Wesley will represent the PAC at the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship from May 13-16 at Firethorn Golf Club in Lincoln, Nebraska, hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan University after receiving a bid on Thursday. This will mark the Wolverines third straight national tournament appearance (2000, 2001) for the four-time PAC champions, coached by Rick McCall. Wesley is currently ranked 17th in the lastest (May 2) Precept Coaches Division III Poll.
Wesley was 20th in it's first NCAA Tournament appearance with a score of +106 over three rounds. The top Wolverine individual was Andy Ferrario who finished in a 60th place tie at +22 in Battle Creek, MI. The championship was won by Greensboro College (+29).
In 2001, Wesley placed 18th (+107) out of over 30 teams with Seth Aldridge finishing in a 38th (+19) place tie as top Wolverine individual in Weldon Springs, MO. Wisconsin-Eau Claire claimed the title with a score of +26.
Wesley has won six of seven tournaments it has entered in the spring with a low score of 587 in the Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational in Scranton, PA. In four two-day invitationals this spring, the Wolverines have scored under a team total of 600 (593, 588, 598 & 587). Wesley highest team total of the season was a 615 at the PAC Championships, held in rain and howling winds. (For results see below.)

WESLEY WIN REGION 2 TITLE
Congratulations to the Wesley Golf Team for winning the Mid-Atlantic Region 2 Golf Classic at the Hershey Country Club in Hershey, PA with a two-day total of 598, finishing 8 strokes ahead of Allegheny and 20 strokes ahead of Susquehanna.
Chris Noll (So, Dover, DE/Dover) won the individual title with a score of 141 (68-73) and teammates Andy Ferrario (Sr, Wilmington, DE/Concord) 152 (77-75) and Adam Frank (Jr, Highland, PA/Fairfield) 153 (74-79) were third and tied for fourth, respectively.
The Wolverines, three-time defending PAC champions and NCAA National Tournament participants the last two years, are the PAC favorites to defend its title, April 28/29, 2002 in Middletown, DE.

2002 PAC Men's Golf Coaches' Poll
Wesley Picked to Win Fourth Straight PAC Golf Title
Aston, PA -- Three-time defending champion Wesley College is picked to win its fourth consecutive Pennsylvania Athletic Conference golf championship, according to the PAC pre-season coach's poll.
Wesley received six of seven first place votes for a total of eight points.
Neumann, the PAC runner-up last season, earned one first place vote to edge Misericordia for second place with 39 points.
The Cougars were third with 38 points and Alvernia and Cabrini rounded out the top five with 27 and 22 points, respectively.

2002 NCAA DIVISION III Golf Championship

Thursday, May 16, 2002- NCAA Final Round
Noll Wins First PAC National Title, Wesley Finishes 9th
Chris Noll (So, Dover, DE/Dover) shot a five-over-par round of 76, but it was good enough to win the individual title at the NCAA Division III National Tournament at Firethorn Golf Club in Lincoln, NE. Noll shot rounds of 69, 74, 74 and 76 for a four day total of 293 (+9) to win the first national championship in the nine-year history of the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference by two strokes over Dave Patterson of Guilford.
Guilford won the team title with a four day total of +76. The Wesley Wolverines finished in a three-way tie for 9th place at +114 with Central (IA) and Ogelthorpe. This marks the highest finish in Wesley's three trips to the NCAA Tournament (2000, 2001, 2002).
PAC Tournament individual champion Zac Oakley (Fr, Lewes, DE) finished in 63rd place at +34, shooting a round of 84. Adam Haba (Sr, Damascus, MD/Clarksburg) also finished in 63rd, shooting a final round of 79. Adam Frank (Jr, Highland, PA/Fairfield) (82) and Andy Ferrario (Sr, Wilmington, DE/Concord) (78) finished tied for 102nd place at +48.

Wednesday, May 15, 2002- NCAA Third Round
Wesley Completes Rain Shortened Round, Noll on Top
The Wesley Wolverines completed a rain shortened third round of the NCAA Division III Golf Championship. Half the field will complete their round today and at 11:00 am central, the fourth and final round will begin with a shot gun start. As of 9:30 am (5/16), Wesley is in 18th place +83 (+24 for the round), with eight schools ahead of the Wolverines, still completing their round. Wesley is currently 10 strokes out of the top ten. Methodist College leads the tourney for the second straight day at +58.
Individually, Chris Noll (So, Dover, DE/Dover) moved back into first place with a second consecutive round of 74 and in contention to win a national title. Noll is at +4, three strokes ahead of Skidmore's Joey Pohle, who has yet to complete his third round.
PAC tournament champion Zac Oakley (Fr, Lewes, DE/Greenwood Mennonite) shot a 75 today to move up to 53rd place at +21. Adam Haba (Sr, Damascus, MD/Clarksburg) shot a 79 and is in 82nd place at +26. Adam Frank (Jr, Highland, PA/Fairfield) shot an 80 and is at +37, good for 115th and Andy Ferrario (Sr, Wilmington, DE/Concord) carded an 86 and is in 118th place at +41.

Tuesday, May 14, 2002- NCAA Second Round
Wesley Slips to 11th Place, Noll Drops to 2nd
The Wesley Wolverines slipped to an 11th place tie at the end of the second round of the NCAA Division III Golf Championship. Wesley shot a +37 for the day (a two day total of +59). The Wolverines are tied with St. John's (MN). Wesley is 23 shots behind first place Methodist College, but only two strokes out of the top ten.
Individually, Chris Noll (So, Dover, DE/Dover) shot a second round total of 74, three-over-par to move down to second place. Over the first two days, Noll is at +1, three strokes behind Adam Lescalleet of Muskingum at -2.
PAC tournament champion Zac Oakley (Fr, Lewes, DE/Greenwood Mennonite) is in 61st place at +17. Adam Haba (Sr, Damascus, MD/Clarksburg) is a stroke back in 67th place. Andy Ferrario (Sr, Wilmington, DE/Concord) is in 106th position at +26 and Adam Frank (Jr, Highland, PA/Fairfield) rounds out the Wolverines at +28, 109th place.

Wesley is 4th After Day One, Noll Leads Individuals
The Wesley Wolverines are in fourth place after the first round of the NCAA Division III Golf Championship. Wesley shot a +22, 11 strokes behind defending national champion Wisconsin-Eau Claire, six shots behind Guilford and only two behind the host, Nebraska Wesleyan.
Individually, Chris Noll (So, Dover, DE/Dover) is the first round leader, carding a two-under-par round of 69, the only round under par. He leads by two strokes over a pair of Guilford golfers, Savio Nazareth and Andrew Biggadike.
Adam Haba (Sr, Damacus, MD/Clarksburg) is in a 23rd place tie at +5. PAC tournament champion Zac Oakley (Fr, Lewes, DE/Greenwood Mennonite) is in 38th place tie at +7. Andy Ferrario (Sr, Wilmington, DE/Concord) shot a +12 and Adam Frank (Jr, Highland, PA/Fairfield) carded a +17 to round out the Wesley scorers.
