19th Ranked Wolverines to Represent PAC at NCAA Division III National Tournament for 4th Straight Year
Wesley will represent the PAC at the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship from May 12-15 at at Dornoch Golf Club in Delaware, Ohio, and will be hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University after receiving a bid on Thursday. This will mark the Wolverines fourth straight national tournament appearance (2000, 2001, 2002) for the five-time PAC champions, coached by Rick McCall. Wesley is currently ranked 19th in the lastest (April 9) Precept Coaches Division III Poll.
Wesley was 20th in it's first NCAA Tournament appearance with a score of +106 over three rounds. The top Wolverine individual was Andy Ferrario who finished in a 60th place tie at +22 in Battle Creek, MI. The championship was won by Greensboro College (+29).
In 2001, Wesley placed 18th (+107) out of over 30 teams with Seth Aldridge finishing in a 38th (+19) place tie as top Wolverine individual in Weldon Springs, MO. Wisconsin-Eau Claire claimed the title with a score of +26.
In 2002, Chris Noll (Jr, Dover, DE/Dover) won the individual title at the NCAA Division III National Tournament at Firethorn Golf Club in Lincoln, NE. Noll shot rounds of 69, 74, 74 and 76 for a four day total of 293 (+9) to win the first national championship in the nine-year history of the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference by two strokes over Dave Patterson of Guilford. Guilford won the team title with a four day total of +76. The Wesley Wolverines finished in a three-way tie for 9th place at +114 with Central (IA) and Ogelthorpe. This marks the highest finish in Wesley's three trips to the NCAA Tournament (2000, 2001, 2002).
This year, Noll, two-time PAC Individual Champion Zac Oakley (So, Lewes, DE/Greenwood Mennonite) and Adam Frank (Jr, Highland, PA/Fairfield) lead a very talented squad into Ohio.

Wesley Win Fifth Straight PAC Tournament Title
Wolverines' Frank Takes Individual Honors
Middletown, DE -- For the fifth consecutive year, the Wesley Wolverines are the PAC Golf Tournament Champions. The Wolverines totaled 585 over the two-day event to outdistance Eastern (677) & Alvernia (680).
Individually, Adam Frank (Jr, Highland, PA/Fairfield) of Wesley took top honors shooting 144 over the two days (73-71). He finished one stroke ahead of 2002 PAC titlist Zac Oakley of Wesley (So, Lewes, DE/Greenwood Mennonite) (71-74= 145) and three strokes ahead of 2002 National Division III Individual Champion Chris Noll (Jr, Dover, DE/Dover) (72-75= 147), also of Wesley.

2003 PAC Men's Golf Pre-Season Coaches' Poll
Wesley Picked to Win Fifth Straight PAC Golf Title
Aston, PA -- Four-time defending champion Wesley College is a unanimous choice to win its fifth consecutive Pennsylvania Athletic Conference golf championship, according to the PAC pre-season coaches’ poll.
The Wolverines are led by returning NCAA Division III champion Chris Noll and Zac Oakley, the defending PAC champion.
“We’re thrilled to be picked to finish first in the PAC,” said Wesley head coach Rick McCall, whose team is picked 10th in the nation according to the Precept Coach’s Poll. “We look forward to being able to live up to the high expectations.”
Neumann, the PAC runner-up each of the last two seasons, is picked second with 52 points while Cabrini is third with 44.
Gwynedd-Mercy is fourth with 36 points followed by College Misericordia and Alvernia with 35 and 33 points, respectively.

Golfers of the Week
April 21: Chris Noll, Wesley, JR, Dover, DE/Dover. Shot 3-under par to grab first round lead of NEPA Collegiate Challenge at Glenmaura.
April 7: Brent Voorhees, Eastern, SO, Grandville, MI. Led team to a 1st place finish at LuLu Country club while earning medalist honors with a 76. Placed 23rd of 93 at the 18-team Widener Invitational, shooting an 83 and leading team to its highest finish of any PAC team (9th).
March 31: Scott Napkori, Misericordia, SR, Wilkes-Barre, PA/Coughlin. Shot a team-best 81 in his first outing of the year. Team was third in a quad-match with Scranton, Wilkes and Arcadia.
March 24: Adam Frank, Wesley, SR, Fairfield, PA/Fairfield. Shot 229 (74 - 75 – 80) to finish in 31st place overall at the Golden Isles Invitational.

Highest Finish in Four Tournament Appearances; Three Wolverines in top 20
The Wesley Wolverines, five-time PAC champions, finished in second place after the final round of the NCAA Division III Golf Championship at the Dornoch Golf Club in Delaware, Ohio, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University. Wesley shot a +15 (299) for a final day total of 1180 (292-302-287-299= +44). The Wolverines, who led or were tied for first in the tournament for three days, were caught by Averett who made up a nine-stroke Wesley lead and won by 5 strokes (+39). Ohio Wesleyan and St. John's (MN) were tied for third at (+48). Methodist was fifth at +52. Averett's Janne Mommo won the individual title with a score of -3 and shot 72 in the final round. Individually, three Wolverines finished in the top 20.
Individually, 2002 PAC Individual titlist Zac Oakley (So, Lewes, DE/Greenwood Mennonite) finished at +5 after shooting a second straight round of 72 (75-70-72-72=289) and fininshed fourth. Anthony Apolostico (Fr, Newark, DE/Hogson), the first round leader, shot a round of 77 today (70-77-70-77= 294) to finish at +10 in a three-way tie for 12th. Defending national champion Chris Noll (Jr, Dover, DE/Dover) carded a 78 and finished at +12 in a six-way tie for 19th (74-74-70-78=296).
2003 PAC Individual titlist Adam Frank (Jr, Highland, PA/Fairfield) finished in a six-way tie for 88th with a final round score of 85 (73-81-75-85=314). Brock Cerlefskie (Fr, Dover, DE/Dover) had his best round of the event in the final with a 72 (79-89-75-72=315) (+31) to finish in a four-way tie for 94th.

The Wesley Wolverines, five-time PAC champions, are in first place after the third round of the NCAA Division III Golf Championship at the Dornoch Golf Club in Delaware, Ohio, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University. Wesley shot a +3 (287) for a three day total of 881 (292-302-287= +29). The Wolverines are nine strokes ahead of Averett and ten strokes ahead of St. John's (MN), Gustavus Adolphus and Denison; 11 strokes ahead of Methodist and Redlands. Individually, three Wolverines are in the top 10 after day three.
Individually, 2002 PAC Individual titlist Zac Oakley (So, Lewes, DE/Greenwood Mennonite) is +4 after shooting a round of 72 (75-70-72=217) and is in a three-way tie for sixth place, including teammate Anthony Apolostico (Fr, Newark, DE/Hogson), the first round leader, who shot a round of 70 today (77-70-70= 217). Defending national champion Chris Noll (Jr, Dover, DE/Dover) is a stroke back (+5) after shooting 70 today and is in a two-way tie for ninth place (74-74-70=218).
2003 PAC Individual titlist Adam Frank (Jr, Highland, PA/Fairfield) is in a five-way tie for 54th with a third round score of 75 (73-81-75=229) and is a +16 for the tournament. Brock Cerlefskie (Fr, Dover, DE/Dover) also shot a round of 75 (79-89-75=243) (+30) to finish in a two-way tie for 113th.

Wesley Tied for 1st After Day Two

The Wesley Wolverines, five-time PAC champions, are in a first place tie with Averett after the second round of the NCAA Division III Golf Championship at the Dornoch Golf Club in Delaware, Ohio, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University. Wesley shot a +18 (302) for a two day total of 594 (292-302) (+26). Averett tied the Wolverines with a 291 on the day, making up an 11 stroke difference. Central of Iowa is four strokes back, while Denision is five back. Individually, three Wolverines are in the top 20 after day two.
Individually, 2002 PAC Individual titlist Zac Oakley (So, Lewes, DE/Greenwood Mennonite) is +3 after shooting a one-under-par round of 70 (75-70= 145) and is tied for eight place, five strokes behind leader Janne Mommo of Averett at -2. Anthony Apolostico (Fr, Newark, DE/Hogson), the first round leader, shot a 77 (77-70= 147) to fall back to +5, tied for 11th place. Defending national champion Chris Noll (Jr, Dover, DE/Dover) carded his second consecutive round of 74 (74-74=148) and is in a four-way tie for 13th place at +6.
2003 PAC Individual titlist Adam Frank (Jr, Highland, PA/Fairfield) is in a nine-way tie for 46th with a second round score of 81 (73-81=154) and is a +12 for the tournament. Brock Cerlefskie (Fr, Dover, DE/Dover) shot a round of 89 (79-89=158) (+26) to finish in a 3-way tie for 117th.

Wesley shot a +8 (292), 11 strokes ahead of Averett, Denision and Gustavus Adolphus.Three Wolverines are in the top ten and four are in the top 20 after day one.
Individually, Anthony Apolostico (Fr, Newark, DE/Hogson) is the first round leader, carding a one-under-par round of 70, the only round under par. He leads by a stroke over Toni Karjalainen of Averett.
2003 PAC Individual titlist Adam Frank (Jr, Highland, PA/Fairfield) is in a five-way tie for fourth with a first round score of 73 (+2). Defending national champion Chris Noll (Jr, Dover, DE/Dover) is in an eight-way tie for ninth place at +3 (74) and 2002 PAC Individual titlist Zac Oakley (So, Lewes, DE/Greenwood Mennonite) carded a carded +4 (75) and is in a 13-way tie for 17th place.
