2008 PAC Golf Coaches' Pre-Season Poll
PAC Coaches Select Knights as Pre-Season Golf Favorite
Aston, Pa. – Neumann College’s golf team has been selected as the preseason favorite in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) coaches’ poll. The 2007 runner-up, the Knights received seven of eight possible first place votes, for a total of 63 points, to finish ahead of Alvernia College.
Alvernia earned 55 points and one first place vote to finish second in the poll.
“We appreciate the recognition from the other PAC teams,” said Neumann head coach, Frank Sill. “It is an honor to be selected and we look forward to the fellowship of playing the other conference teams throughout the season at our home course.”
Cabrini College (48), Misericordia University (37), Eastern University (36), Centenary College (21), Immaculata University (15), and Gwynedd-Mercy College (13) rounded out the voting.
The 2008 PAC Championship begins on Saturday, April 26th at the Center Valley Country Club in Allentown, Pa.

Golfer of the Week
Cabrini Colleges’s Tim Harner was named the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Golfer of the Week for the week ending April 20th. Harner helped the Cavaliers to three quad-match titles this week, including medaling with a round of 73 at Alvernia. Harner tied for second at Cabrini’s own math, and carded a 78 at Delaware Valley College.

Golfer of the Week
Immaculata University’s Chris Ware was named the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Golfer of the Week for the week ending April 13th. Ware finished in a tie for second place with a card of 82 at a tri-match hosted by Alvernia College, helping lead Immaculata to the program’s first tournament title.

Cabrini College’s Tim Harner (Jr., Tower City, Pa./Williams Valley) was named the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Golfer of the Week for the week ending April 6th. Harner finished in second place with a round of 77 at a quad-match hosted by Neumann College, helping lead Cabrini to a first place finish.

Neumann College’s Mark Van Vliet (Sr., Dorchester, ONT) was named the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Golfer of the Week for the week ending March 23rd. Van Vliet medaled in a match versus Swarthmore college, shooting a two over par 73 to finish in first place individually and leading the team to a victory.

Center Valley, Pa. – Cabrini College came back from a nine-stroke deficit to claim the 2008 Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Golf Championship on Sunday. With a final team score of 635, the Cavaliers finished ahead of pre-season favorite, Neumann College. Neumann finished with a final team score of 644.
Cabrini College will represent the PAC in the NCAA Golf Tournament, beginning May 13 in Braselton, Ga.

Center Valley, Pa. – The first day of the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Golf Championship ended late Saturday night, with the final foursome completing the 18th hole at 8:30 p.m. At the end of Day One, Neumann College held a nine stroke lead with a team score of 321, with Cabrini College close behind at second with 330.
