CAIRN PICKED FIRST IN CSAC MEN'S VOLLEYBALL PRESEASON COACHES' POLL
ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Cairn University men’s volleyball team was the top pick of the coaches in the 2021 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) preseason poll released on Monday afternoon.
The Highlanders received 15 points and three first-place votes, while Saint Elizabeth University was second with 13 points and one first-place vote.
Wilson College and The University of Valley Forge were tied for third with six points each.
Conference play starts Wednesday, April 7, as Cairn takes on Wilson.
The 2021 CSAC Championship, in which all teams will qualify, is scheduled to be contested on Saturday, April 24, at Saint Elizabeth University. The top seed will battle the fourth seed, while the second seed will take on the third seed. The two semifinal winners will meet later that day for the CSAC Championship.

Moyer had nine digs in the win over Neumann.

Bassill had 40 assists in a three-set victory over Neumann, the most assists by a Cairn setter in a three-set match in seven years.

Moyer had 11 digs in a three-set win over Neumann.

Scott did a little bit of everything in two 3-0 wins over Wilson and Valley Forge last week. He totalled seven kills on 20 attempts with 12 assists. He also had two service aces in each match.
Collin Benjamin / Sr / Cairn University / Langhorne, Pa / Bucks County Technical HS (Defensive)
Benjamin had five blocks to go along with three digs in two matches last week. He accounted for ten points in the win over Valley Forge.

Peters totaled 20 kills in seven sets in two, 2-0 sweeps against Valley Forge and Wilson. He hit a combined .531 with 18 kills in the two conference matches with just one error in 32 total attacks.
CJ Koskulitz / Sr / Saint Elizabeth University / Bridgewater, N.J. / Bridgewater Raritan HS (Defensive)
Koskulitz had 22 digs and four assists in two conference victories over Valley Forge and Wilson.

MORRISTOWN, N.J. – Pushed to the brink of elimination in the championship match, top-seeded Cairn responded by forcing a fifth set to eventually take a 3-2 win over second-seed Saint Elizabeth in the 2021 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Men’s Volleyball Championship on Saturday afternoon at Saint Elizabeth.
Cairn, who advanced to the title match after besting Wilson earlier in the day, won the fourth seed 28-26 and then won the fifth set 15-8 over the Eagles.
Scott Bassill from Cairn was named as the Most Outstanding Player as he had 40 assists, 11 digs and six block assists in the title bout. Collin Benjamin and Caleb Horning each had 12 kills for the Highlanders.
Saint Elizabeth, who defeated Valley Forge earlier in the day to advance to the championship match, got 16 kills from Kodi Peters and eight kills from Jarod Crowe.
This was the first CSAC championship, as last year’s inaugural tournament was cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

CSAC ANNOUNCES 2021 MEN'S VOLLEYBALL END OF YEAR AWARDS
ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) has announced its 2021 Men’s Volleyball End of the Year Awards. These awards include All-CSAC, All-Sportsmanship, Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year and the 3-D Award.
The 2021 Player of the Year is sophomore
Kodi Peters (Bergenfield, N.J./Bergenfield) from Saint Elizabeth University. Peters is the first student-athlete from Saint Elizabeth to win this award in men’s volleyball. In four matches, Peters had a team-high 30 kills and hit .218. He had a season high ten kills in the match with Cairn back on April 20.
Co-Defensive Player of the Year went to sophomore
Josh Moyer (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) from Cairn and senior C
J Koskulitz (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan). Moyer is the second student-athlete from Cairn to win the award in men’s volleyball, while Koskulitz is the first. Koskulitz had 36 digs on the year, 14 of them in a match with Wilson on April 17. Moyer has a team-high 85 digs on the year.
Co-Rookie of the Year went to freshman
Will Nase (Souderton, Pa./Souderton) from Cairn and freshman
Jayson Camacho from Saint Elizabeth. Nase and Camacho are the first student-athletes from their respective institutions to win the award in men’s volleyball. Camacho had 20 kills on the year, nine of them in the Cairn match on April 20. Nase had 48 kills on the year and hit .263.
Coach of the Year was
Bill Condon from Saint Elizabeth. He is the first coach from Saint Elizabeth to win the award in men’s volleyball. In his fourth year, he led his team to a 4-1 mark and the second seed in the upcoming CSAC Championship.
The 3-D Award went to Cairn University. Implemented for the 2011-12 academic year, the Colonial States Athletic Conference 3D Award replaced the CSAC Team Sportsmanship Award. The 3D Award recognizes the teams in each sport that best demonstrate the NCAA Division-III philosophy of "Discover, Develop, Dedicate." The 3D Award was conceived and developed by the CSAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). This marks the first time Cairn has won the award in men’s volleyball
