2022 CSAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Preseason Coaches' Poll
PSU-BEHREND MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD PICKED FIRST IN PRESEASON COACHES' POLL
VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Penn State-Behrend men’s track and field team was picked first in the 2022 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Preseason Coaches’ Poll which was released on Wednesday afternoon.
The Lions, who have won the last five championships, received 15 points and three first-place votes. Alfred State College was second with 11 points, while Gallaudet University was third with nine points and one first-place vote. Keystone College was picked fourth with five points.
The 2022 CSAC Track and Field Championships will be held on May 7-8, at Alfred State College.

2022 Track and Field Athletes of the Week
March 28, 2022
Eric Gregory / So / Galllaudet University / Metairie, La. / East Jefferson HS (Track)
Gregory won two events last Saturday at the Blue and Silver Challenge hosted by Christopher Newport University. Gregory came in first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.69 seconds on a cold and windy day in Newport News, Va. He followed that with a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash as he crossed the finish line in 49.95 seconds. Gregory was also a member of Gallaudet's first-place 4x400 meter relay team that posted a time of 3:32.70.
Dylan Perlino / So / Alfred State College / Holand, N.Y. / Holland HS (Field)
Perlino started off the 2022 outdoor track and field season by breaking his own program record in the hammer throw at the Jim Taylor Invitational hosted by Susquehanna on Friday. Perlino finished fourth overall with a throw of 50.87m (166-10). He threw 11.88m (38-11 ¾) in shot put to place 14th. The next day Perlino won discus with a throw of 48.64m (159-7).

Eric Gregory / So / Galllaudet University / Metairie, La. / East Jefferson HS (Track)
Gregory improved on two of his school records last Saturday at the VertKlasse Meeting hosted by High Point University in North Carolina. The sophomore sprinter set a personal best and school record in the 400-meter dash as he came in first overall in the participation event with a blistering time of 48.00 seconds. That time best his previous top time of 49.57 set last month at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge. The 48.00 seconds is the top men's time in NCAA Division III so far this season and puts him in good position to qualify for the NCAA national championship meet in May. Gregory also lowered his school record time in the 200-meter dash as he posted a time of 21.24 seconds in the finals and placed sixth overall. The previous school record Gregory held was 21.39 seconds set on April 20, 2019 at the Gallaudet University Invitational. Earlier in the day, Gregory finished seventh overall in the 100-meter participation event with a time of 11.03 seconds. His time was the second fastest from a Division III runner in the event.
Dylan Perlino / So / Alfred State College / Holand, N.Y. / Holland HS (Field)
Perlino won discus with a throw of 48.53m (159-2) at the Geneseo Early Season Invitational and is currently ranked 6th in NCAA DIII for discus. Perlino broke his own hammer throw record for the second time this season after throwing 51.76m (169-10) to place 3rd and break his own program record he originally set at the end of the 2021 season and reset last week. He is currently ranked 16th in NCAA DIII for hammer. He finished 15th in shot put with 11.84m (38-10 ¼).

Eric Stehlik finished the weekend earning gold in the 400m and silver in the 200m. Stehlik ran a 51.16 to place first in the 400m and finished in 22.62 in the 200m for second.
Dylan Perlino / So / Alfred State College / Holand, N.Y. / Holland HS (Field)
Dylan Perlino (Holland) won discus with an AARTFC qualifying mark of 48.28m and took second in hammer with an AARTFC qualifying mark of 51.25m at the Cortland Red Dragon Open.

Kody Klein helped in bringing gold back to Behrend in two events on Saturday, placing first in the 800m and as one leg of the 4x400m relay. Klein registered a time of 1:58.40 in the 800m, placing first and helped the 4x400m team clinch a top finish with a time of 3:32.93.
Matt Laslavic / FY / Penn State Behrend / Zelienope, Pa / Seneca Valley HS (Field)
Laslavic hit an AARTFC-qualifying mark while placing second in the javelin throw this past weekend and also earned silver in the triple jump, making for the top mark in the CSAC. Laslavic registered a toss of 52.76m to take second place. The mark also stands as the best in the conference to date.

Stehlik registered a top-5 finish in each event he competed in over two meets this past weekend. Stehlik logged an AARTFC-qualifying mark, grabbing gold in the 100m in the Behrend Invitational by finishing in 10.96. Stehlik took second place in the 200m at the SRU Open, crossing at 22.52 and played a part in both the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams, helping the Lions to a second and third-place finish, respectively.
Samuel Hetrick / So / Penn State Behrend / New Bethlehem, Pa. / Redbank Valley HS (Field)
Hetrick continued to stay atop the NCAA Division III ranks in the high jump this past week with a leap of 2.08m, tying for second in the nation. The mark gave him the win in the Behrend Invitational and also took first in the long jump with a leap of 6.25m. Hetrick finished first in the SRU Open on Thursday with a 2.00m high jump and played a role in the 4x100, helping the Lions claim second.

PSU-BEHREND CAPTURES CSAC TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIP
ALFRED, N.Y. - The Penn State Behrend men's and women's track and field teams captured the 2022 Colonial States Athletic Conference Championship, held at Alfred State University.
The men's team won its sixth straight title with a total of 302 points, while the women won its fifth title in six years with 246 points. Alfred State finished second on both sides. The men finished with 171 points, while the women had 197 points
On the women's side, Penn State Behrend's Ivy Laffan was named CSAC Track Athlete of the Year, securing victories in the 100m, 200m and 400m. She also played a role in clinching gold in the 4x100m and 4x400m relay.
Alfred State's Emma Taggart had a very impressive outing and was honored as the CSAC Field Performer of the Year. Taggart won the 100-meter hurdles in 16.08, placed 2
nd in high jump with a height of 1.50m, placed 2
nd in long jump in 4.99m, and placed 2
nd in shot put with a distance of 10.79m.
The men saw an outstanding performance from Gallaudet's Eric Gregory. Gregory, who was named the CSAC Track Performer of the Year, smashed the all-time NCAA Division III record in the 200-meter dash as he won the event in 20.62 seconds with +1.4 wind. The time is the fastest ever by a Deaf individual, the time also sets a new CSAC record and Gallaudet school record. Gregory's previous school record was 21.24 set last month at the VertKlasse Meeting in High Point, N.C., on April 2, 2022.

CSAC ANNOUNCES TRACK AND FIELD END OF YEAR AWARDS
VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) has announced its 2022 Track and Field End of Year Award winners. Awards include All-CSAC (First-Team, Second-Team and Honorable Mention) as well as Coach of the Year in both men's and women's track and field and 3-D Award.
Athletes earned All-CSAC based on their finish at the 2022 CSAC Track and Field Championship, May 7-8 at Alfred State College.
