Lauren Lesser joined the United East Conference as the Assistant Commissioner for Communications in September 2024.
Lauren Lesser most recently acted as an Academic Resource Coordinator at Juniata College. Lesser has also made stops at the North Atlantic Conference (NAC), Duquesne University, the University of Memphis, and Kent State University in a variety of roles within intercollegiate athletics.
At the NAC, Lesser worked within the athletic communications space, producing releases, aiding in the awards process, and contributing to championships content coverage. Prior to teaming up with the conference, Lesser was the Assistant Director of Academic and Student Services for Athletics at Duquesne from 2021 to 2023. Lesser played a pivotal role in student-athlete development programming, academic support services, and as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) advisor. Lesser also provided leadership to the 2023 NEC football championship team as they earned a program-high team GPA.
During her time in Pittsburgh, Lesser was selected to attend the NCAA Effective Facilitation workshop and acted as a site representative at the Division I Women’s Volleyball and Division III Men’s Volleyball championships. Lesser also worked as media support for the first and second rounds of the Men's Basketball March Madness tournament, hosted in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Before her stint at Duquesne, Lesser was an Athletic Academic Counselor at the University of Memphis from 2019-2021. This role complemented her experience at Kent State University, where Lesser acted as both an athletic academic coach and graduate student assistant in athletic communications while earning her master’s degree.
Lesser got her start in athletics as the Assistant Director of Sports Information at Juniata College after finishing up her time as a softball student-athlete on campus.
Lauren graduated from Juniata in 2016 with a degree in Professional Writing. She went on to earn her master’s from Kent State in 2019 and is currently pursuing her doctorate at the University of Kansas. She resides in Huntingdon, PA with her fiancé, Ben.
