North Eastern Athletic Conference Men’s Cross Country Championships and All-Conference Selections

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) concluded its men’s cross country season with its conference championship held at SUNY Cobleskill (Cobleskill, N.Y.) today.  Host SUNY Cobleskill captured its third title in four years with a team score of 24. 

SUNY Institute of Technology, last year’s champion, finished in second place with a team score of 44, while Morrisville State College came in third with 81 points.  The rest of the team finishes were as follows: Penn State Berks (4th, 145 points), Keuka College (5th, 147 points), Wells College (6th, 165 points), Penn State Abington (7th, 168 points), Lancaster Bible College (8th, 209 points), Penn State Harrisburg (9th, 244 points) and Gallaudet University (10th, 255 points).

Individually, SUNY Cobleskill sophomore Conor Cashin (Albany, N.Y.) took home first place with a time of 28:27 at the 8K course and won his second straight NEAC Runner of the Year award for his efforts.  Cashin, a two-time NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week winner, was also named to the All-Conference First Team.  Morrisville State freshman Greg Jonsmeyer (West Hurley, N.Y.) was named the NEAC's inaugural Rookie of the Year after being the first rookie to cross the finish line, while also earning All-Conference first team honors.

SUNY Cobleskill’s Mitch Tomaszkiewicz received the NEAC Coach of the Year honors after two first-place finishes and five top-five finishes on the season.
