NEAC Announces 2014-15 Men’s Lacrosse All-Conference Selections and Individual Award Winners

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its 2014-15 Men’s Lacrosse All-Conference selections, with first, second and third team honors being awarded by position to a total of 39 student-athletes, as selected by the conference coaches.

The NEAC has also announced its individual award winners, which were also selected by the conference coaches.  After a terrific debut season, Bryn Athyn College freshman Nolan Frame (Coldstream, B.C.) was selected as both the NEAC Offensive Player and Rookie of the Year. Frame was tied for the conference lead in goals with 42 behind a 76.5 shots-on-goal percentage, while being second in points with 54 after adding 12 assists.  The attacker scored at least one goal in all but one of the Lions’ 13 games on the season, while scoring at least three times in seven separate contests en route to also being selected to the All-Conference First Team.  Frame also scooped up 21 groundballs and caused eight turnovers on the year for the Lions en route to guiding them to an 8-5 overall record.

Morrisville State College junior Chris Fiore (Staten Island, N.Y.) was named the NEAC Defensive Player of the Year after a tremendous season between the pipes for the Mustangs.  A three-time NEAC Defensive Player of the Week selection who twice earned the same honor from the ECAC for the Mid-Atlantic region, Fiore led the conference in goals-against average (6.05), save percentage (65.1) and wins (9), while also making the third-most saves (140).  Last year’s NCAA stats champion in goals-against average, he currently ranks 10th in that category nationally while also ranking first in save percentage. Fiore was sensational in conference play, allowing just 25 goals for a 3.76 goals against average while also posting a 72.2 save percentage for a perfect 8-0 record, which helped him also land on the All-Conference First Team.

The NEAC Coach of the Year honor went to Morrisville State College’s Jason Longo after an excellent season guiding the Mustangs.  Longo led Morrisville to the conference’s regular season title after going a perfect 8-0 in NEAC action.  That also earned the squad the top seed in the upcoming four-team NEAC Tournament.  Longo also saw six of his players garner All-Conference recognition.
