SUNY Cobleskill Captures 2019 NEAC Men's Cross Country Crown
LATHAM, N.Y. – SUNY Cobleskill took home the 2019 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Men’s Cross Country Title at home on Saturday. The Fighting Tigers had the two on the podium and four runners inside the top 22.

Jared Craw (Colonie, N.Y.) won the individual title and was named Runner of the Year after stopping the clock in 26:14.5. The sophomore was 13 seconds clear of Lancaster Bible College’s Abenezer Abebe (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia) in second. SUNY Cobleskill’s Dillon VanDemortel (Newark, N.Y.) rounded out the top three with a time of 26:38.7.
The Fighting Tigers scored 49 points as a team to win the team title by nine points over SUNY Poly. Tucker Skowyra (Hardwick, Mass.), Nick Merando (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) and Jorge Garcia (Copake, N.Y.) finished in 11th, 12th, and 22nd to complete the scoring for SUNY Cobleskill. SUNY Poly had a trio of runners finish inside the top 10 and five inside the top 18 led by Garrett Jones (New Hartford, N.Y.) at 28:00.7. SUNY Cobleskill’s Mitch Tomaszkiewicz was named NEAC Coach of the Year.
Morrisville State, 82 points, Penn State Berks, 103, and Penn College, 120, completed the top five. Morrisville State’s Peyton Jones (Friendsville, Pa.) earned Rookie of the Year honors after crossing the line in fourth in a time of 26:52.8.
First, second, and third-team All-Conference selections were determined by the individual finish times at the championship race. The top 21 runners receive all-conference honors with seven members on each team in the order they completed the race.
