LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East has released its 2022 Women’s Soccer All-Conference Teams as well as its Major Award winners of the 2022 season. The All-Conference teams are made up of 11 student-athletes, each with three forwards, three midfielders, three defenders, one goalkeeper and one at-large bid. Four major awards have also been handed out including Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year

Offensive Player of the Year - Emily Clapper (Penn State Berks)
Defensive Player of the Year - Sydney Hemler (Penn State Harrisurg)
Rookie of the Year - Diana Pon (Penn State Berks)
Coach of the Year - Adrian Munteanu (Penn State Berks)
Emily Clapper played a major role in the Berks offense this season, starting in all 18 of the Nittany Lions matches. The senior captain logged 36 points on the year, ranking second in the conference and 32nd in all of Division III. Of those 36 points, 28 came by way of 14 goals, which led her squad. Clapper scored in 11 different games this year, including a three-goal performance in a win over Gallaudet University on October, 15th. This year also makes the Lancaster, Pa. native’s third-straight season on the All-Conference First Team.
Sydney Hemler was key to the Penn State Harrisburg backline success during the 2022 season as the defender started in all 18 games for the Lions. The senior was pivotal in keeping the opponents off of the scoresheet as Harrisburg recorded 13 shutouts on the year. Hemler also pitched in on offense occasionally as she scored four goals and assisted on another. This year, the Boiling Springs, Pa. native was tabbed Defensive Player of the Week three times as well.
Diana Pon was another instrumental part to the Berks playing style this season as she started in all 18 games at the midfield position. The first year racked up 31 points on the season, including 11 goals and nine assists. Pon was never afraid to shoot from anywhere as her 3.17 shots per game ranked 14th in Division III. One of her top outings came in a win over Lancaster Bible College as she scored twice and assisted on another.
Adrian Munteanu guided his team to a Regular Season Champions title en route to being named the conference’s Coach of the Year. The bench captain aided his squad into becoming one of the top offenses in the country as their 11.2 shots on goal per game ranks 21st in Division III. Berks boasted a record of 11-5-2 overall while going unbeaten (7-0-1) in conference action. Munteanu also led seven of his players to All-Conference selections, including the Rookie of the Year and the Offensive Player of the Year
