ALLIANCE, Ohio - The Lancaster Bible College men’s basketball team fell, 90-66, to the University of Mount Union Saturday evening in the Second Round of the NCAA Championship. With the result, the Chargers finish their year with a record of 21-8.
Lancaster Bible got up early on the host Purple Raiders as they opened up the contest on a 6-0 run. Things would even back up throughout the next several minutes and the two sides remained within a single possession of each other through the midway point of the first half. A 15-4 run for the home squad would put some separation between the two sides and Lancaster Bible would trail 44-31 going into the intermission
Mount Union continued to build on their lead in the second half, leading by as much as 25. The Chargers displayed great effort but were unable to mount a true comeback attempt.
Jordan Shewbridge finished out his career in a Charger uniform as the team’s top scorer, recording 29 throughout the contest. Adam Stolztfus was the other key contributor for LBC as he ended with a 17 point, 15 rebound double-double.
