Penn College Takes Home Men's Cross Country Title; Gray Crosses Finish Line First

HUGHESVILLE, Md. – The 2024 United East Men’s Cross Country Championship took place Saturday afternoon at 12 p.m. at Oak Ridge Park, hosted by St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Penn College earned the overall team champion title for the second consecutive year.

Lancaster Bible College’s Mitchell Gray was the first to cross the finish line with a time of 26:04.03, as he was named Runner of the Year for the third-straight year. Rafe Williams of Bryn Athyn College came in second, logging a time of 26:47.56, while St. Mary's College Michael Wade rounded out the podium in third with a 27:32.75.
 
Trent Jordan of Penn State Berks earned Rookie of the Year honors, awarded to the top, first-year runner.
 
The Elite 20 award, given to a runner from the top-2 finishing teams who holds the highest GPA, was earned by Penn College’s Alec Rees.
 
The Men’s Cross Country Coach of the Year was awarded to Tom Leeser, head coach at Penn College.
