MANAHAWKIN, N.J. – St. Mary's College of Maryland's
Charlotte Horn (Schwenksville, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) was one of 60 student-athletes from 46 different Division III field hockey programs to earn a spot on the 2024 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) National Senior Team. Horn is the eighth Seahawk field hockey player to be named to the Senior Team. The other Senior Team members were

The 5-5 defender is the only representative from the United East Conference to gain a spot on the Senior Team.
During her four-year career at St. Mary's College, Horn notched 13 assists and six goals for 25 points while picking up six defensive saves in 71 games played (71 starts). She tallied her first two game-winning goals this season in victories over Sewanee: University of the South (Sept. 1) and Keystone College (Nov. 9).
A two-year team captain, Horn has garnered three NFHCA All-Region IV awards with Second Team honors in 2021 and 2022 and a First Team nod last season. She also collected three Defensive Player of the Year awards (two in the Atlantic East and one in the United East) and four First Team all-conference awards (three in the Atlantic East and one in the UEC).
She was also named the 2021 Atlantic East Rookie of the Year while notching three Atlantic East Defensive Player of the Week awards.
This season, Horn tallied two defensive saves while anchoring a defensive unit that registered eight shutouts this season. She was also an offensive threat for the Seahawks, contributing three goals, including a team second-best two game-winning goals, and team second-best six assists, tying for third in the United East.
Horn was named the Tournament MVP after scoring twice in the United East championship game.
SMCM ended the 2024 by making its second straight (second overall) appearance in the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship Tournament. St. Mary's College claimed both the United East regular-season and tournament championship titles in its first year competing in the United East. Additionally, the Seahawks recorded their fourth straight undefeated conference record, going 22-0 over the past four conference regular seasons.
