LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East Crossover Championship is set as Volt Division Winner, Penn State Harrisburg, will host Skye Division Champions, Saint Elizabeth University. That game will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
VOLT DIVISION - #1 Penn State Harrisburg def. #3 St. Mary’s College of Maryland, 80-56
The Lions opened the contest with a 9-0 run highlighted by a trio of 3-pointers and never looked back. Harrisburg shot 45.0% from the field, led by their star guard Donyae Baylor-Carroll who finished with a game high 27 points. The senior packed the stat sheet as he also racked up 11 boards and seven dimes. He was helped by Isaiah Milien, who dumped in 20 points and Nate Curry who had nine (and one board shy of a double-double). James Lerner was the top scorer for the Seahawks, posting 14 points.
SKYE DIVISION - #3 Saint Elizabeth University def. #1 Wilson College, 65-56
This contest was played tightly across the first 10 minutes with neither team able to take a sizeable lead. The Eagles went on a run late in the period, going up by as much as 10, but the deficit was cut before half as Wilson trailed Saint Elizabeth, 34-28. Play continued to be tight into the second half but the visiting squad maintained a lead the whole way, eventually claiming the Skye Division title. D’Angelo Blackmond was everywhere for Saint Elizabeth, picking up a double-double with 15 boards and 10 points. Tye-Rell Monroe was the leading scorer though, finishing the game with 23. Darryl Garib was the lead scorer for the Phoenix, dropping 16 on the evening.
