Men's Basketball 2/24/2024 5:00:00 PM Penn State Harrisburg Captures United East Title in Men's Basketball LATHAM, N.Y. - Penn State Harrisburg has won the 2024 United East Men’s Basketball Championship after defeating Saint Elizabeth University 84-61 on Saturday afternoon at Penn State Harrisburg. With the win, the squad also earns the automatic qualifier and will represent the conference in the upcoming 2024 NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Championship. This is the third conference championship for Penn State Harrisburg in the last four seasons: with the 2020-21 season taken off due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Nittany Lions won in the 2019-20 season before falling in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament to Yeshiva and also won during the 2021-22 season before falling in the Second Round again, this time to WPI. No. 3 Saint Elizabeth University (Skye), 84-61 - Box Score Harrisburg started strong and took a 36-21 lead into halftime after generating 14 steals and 19 points off of turnovers in the first half. Harrisburg ran away with the game in the second half behind 54.3% shooting as a team (19-for-35) and generating 10 more steals. In the afternoon, the Nittany Lions generated 39 points off 26 turnovers and had 26 assists on their 32 field goals. The Nittany Lions had four players in double-digits led by Nate Curry who had 21 points and 6 rebounds. Donyae Baylor-Carroll had 19 points, 10 steals, and 7 assists while Isaiah Milien contributed 14 points and 4 steals and Isaiah Eggleston chipped in 12 points off the bench. The Eagles were led by D’Angelo Blackmond’s double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds while Jonathan Ramos had 13 points on 50% shooting from the field.
