Baseball 5/18/2024 10:00:00 PM Saturday NCAA Baseball: Harrisburg Falls to Randolph-Macon, Keystone Rained Out HARRISBURG, Pa. - No. 14 Penn State Harrisburg fell to No .22 Randolph Macon College 7-3 on Saturday evening in the second round of the NCAA Baseball Regionals. Game 4 - Randolph-Macon College def. Penn State Harrisburg - 7-3 - Box Score With extended rain throughout the day, Harrisburg and Randolph Macon finally got on the field for a 5:00 pm start following the Bridgewater State and Elizabethtown elimination game. Both teams were held down by a pitcher’s duel until a Chaz Harvey home run in the 6th inning for the Yellow Jackets put Randolph-Macon ahead 3-1 and they would not relinquish that lead. Coy Schwanger had two hits and an RBI for the Nittany Lions while Drew Bechtold went 2-for-4 with a run scored. Brendan Henn had two walks and a double at the plate. Fisher Druck got the start for Penn State Harrisburg and went 5.1 innings pitched, striking out four, scattering four hits, and giving up one earned run. However, Harrisburg committed three errors leading to three unearned runs; two of which were in the ninth inning. Penn State Harrisburg (35-10) will now face Elizabethtown College (32-13) on Sunday morning at 10:00 am in an elimination game. Elizabethtown defeated Bridgewater State earlier in the day 8-3 to keep their season alive. The winner will face Randolph-Macon, needing to beat them twice. DALLAS, Pa. - Keystone College was rained out today and will play Misericordia University on Sunday morning at 9:00 am in Game 4 of the Misericordia Regional. Only the elimination game between Middlebury College and St. John Fisher was able to be completed, with Middlebury eliminating St. John Fisher 9-8 in 10 innings. Middlebury will face the loser of Keystone and Misericordia immediately afterwards in an elimination game.
