LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East conference has announced its Athletes of the Week for December 1, 2025. Today will include Players of the Week from Men's and Women's Basketball.
This week’s selections included contests through Sunday, November 30. A total of three student-athletes from three different member institutions were recognized for their performances.
Men’s Basketball
Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week
Armani Jones / SR / Wilson College / Chicago, Ill. / Christ the King Prep
Jones gave two standout performances by averaging 19 points and 8 rebounds per game as Wilson fell to perennial Division II power Millersville before defeating Widener. Against the Marauders, Jones shot. 6-of-12 to score 13 points and pulled down six rebounds. He remained strong on both ends of the floor with 25 points after going 10-for-15 and pulled in 12 rebounds, 11 of which were on the defensive end, for his second double-double of the season. All told, he shot 59.3% from the field and totaled 15 defensive rebounds.
This is Jones' second and third weekly accolade of the season and his fifth all time (11/24/25, 02/10/25, 12/23/24).
Women’s Basketball
Offensive Player of the Week
Gigi Parlante / SO / Penn College / Williamsport, Pa. / St. John Neumann
Parlante scored her third double-double of the season with a season-high 29 points and 11 rebounds in an 84-42 nonconference victory over Penn State Berks last Tuesday. Parlante hit 11-of-16 from the field and 7-for-9 at the line while grabbing a balanced five offensive and six defensive boards. She also tallied four steals and dished out two assists in the victory.
This is Parlante's first ever weekly of the season and her fifth of her career (02/17/25, 12/23/24, 12/02/24, 11/11/24)
Defensive Player of the Week
Emily Brittin / JR / Cairn University / Winslow, N.J. / Pilgrim Academy
Brittin was a highlight in the Highlander roster this past week, putting up a double-double in their sole contest. The junior hauled in 15 boards including 13 of the defensive variety. She'd add a pair of blocks and a pair of steals in the defensive effort. Brittin also racked up 14 points to complete her double-double.
This is Brittin's first ever weekly accoalde.
