Seahawks & Bison to Clash in Women's Basketball Championship Final

LATHAM, N.Y. - The 2025 Women’s Basketball Championship Final is set as top-seeded St. Mary’s College will clash with #3 Gallaudet University for a shot at the crown. The Seahawks upended #5 Bryn Athyn College 54-46 while Gallaudet outscored #2 Penn State Abington, 95-85.

That contest will take place at 1 PM on Saturday on the campus of St Mary’s College of Maryland.

#3 Gallaudet def. #2 Penn State Abington, 95-85 (BOX SCORE)

The offense for the visiting Bison was hot all night, hitting the 20-point mark in all four quarters including an opening stanza of 28 points. Scoring came from all over as six different Gallaudet players hit the double-digit mark. Alexis Roberts and Claire Tucker-Ruiz shared the lead-scorer title with 16 a piece. 

Rebounding played a big role in the win as well with four players achieving double-doubles on the night. Roberts, Raj Guettler, Cam Lexow and Hannah Puent all came away with double-digit points and rebounding. As a team, the Bison out rebounded the Nittany Lions 54-23.

Amina Reid led all scorers on the court as the Abington player finished with 22 to go along with six steals. Amirah Hackney was right behind her with 16 points.

Defense ruled the court as the two sides played a tight-knit battle through the entire contest. The Seahawks played with active hands as eight different players combined for 23 steals on the evening. Rayna Miller picked the ball off a team-leading three times and added a block as well. 

Offensively, Olivia Liszt was a sharp shooter as she scored a team-leading 14 points including four from downtown. Keira Mason played an active role as well, notching 13 points with seven coming from the charity stripe.

Zhymari Smith was the key player for the Lions, leading all players on the floor with 16 points. Alexa Osafa-Mensah played well in the paint, hauling in 10 boards on the evening. Bryn Athyn ends its season with a record of 21-6.
