LEXINGTON, Va. - The St. Mary’s College of Maryland women’s basketball team fell, 73-44, to No. 3 Washington & Lee University Friday evening in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Championship. With the result, the Seahawks end their year with a record of 23-5 and the title of United East Champions.
The Generals took a quick lead on the Seahawks and never looked back. Coming off of a Championship MVP performance, Samantha Blaylock scored 10 points on the night, going 4-6 from the field. Skylar Woodyard matched her point total with 10.
Rayna Miller had a solid night defensively, picking up a team-high six boards while also registering a pair of blocks and a steal.
