LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East conference has announced its Athletes of the Week for January 112, 2026. Today will include Players of the Week from Men's and Women's Basketball.
This week’s selections included contests through Sunday, January 11. A total of four student-athletes from four different member institutions were recognized for their performances.
Men’s Basketball
Offensive Player of the Week
Camden Hurst / JR / Lancaster Bible College / Lancaster, Pa. / Lancaster Mennonite
Hurst moved his streak of games with 20+ points to six-straight as he notched two more this week. He led the week off with a 23-point perforamnce in a midweek win over Penn State Brandywine before flushing 26 points in the weekend win over Keystone. The junior was not only scoring a lot, but also scoring effeciently as he shot 70.0% from the field. He'd also tack on five assists as his Chargers picked up two key conference victories.
This is Hurst's third weekly award of his career (1/5/16, 12/15/25).
Defensive Player of the Week
Tyler Meinel / SO / Penn State Abington / Warrington, Pa. / Central Bucks South
In a 1-1 week for the Nittany Lions, sophomore Tyler Meinel averaged 17 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. In addition, Meinel totaled six blocks and four steals on the week. In the team's one-point setback against Valley Forge he scored a season-high 19 points to go along with eighth rebounds. Defenseivly he totaled three blocks and three steals. Meinel then totaled 15 points and six boards in the win at St. Mary's (Md.) while blocking another three shots to go along with one steal. He finished the week shooting an impressive 68.1-percent from the field.
This is Meinel's first ever Player of the Week nod.
Women’s Basketball
Offensive Player of the Week
Ella Bincarosky / SO / Cedar Crest College / Coopersburg, Pa. / Bethlehem Catholic
Bincarosky averaged 24 points on 52 percent shooting from the floor (14-for-27), 52 percent shooting from three-point range (11-for-21), and 82 percent (9-for-11) from the charity stripe in a 2-0 week for Cedar Crest. She tallied 26 points on 6-for-12 shooting, including 5-for-10 from distance, and 9-for-11 from the free throw line in an 87-63 win at Wilson College. Bincarosky also recorded four rebounds, one assist, and two steals against the Phoenix. She then closed the week with 22 points on 8-for-15 shooting (6-for-11 from three point range) in an 89-38 win over Valley Forge, also chipping in seven boards, four assists, and five steals.
This is Bincarosky's first ever weekly accoalde.
Defensive Player of the Week
Lauren Moffatt / SO / Mountville, Pa. / Hempfield
Lauren Moffatt turned in the best stretch of her career to lead Penn State Harrisburg to a pair of conference victories and a 2-1 record last week. The sophomore opened the week with a 15-point, 12-rebound double-double in a narrow road loss on Monday before finishing a bucket shy of another double-double in a win over Penn State Berks on Wednesday in which she tallied a career-high 15 rebounds, eight points and three steals. The forward saved her best for last, netting a career-high 21 points, grabbing 10 boards, swiping four steals and dishing out three assists to record another double-double in an improbable come-from-behind victory against Gallaudet on Saturday. In a game the Lions trailed by 21 entering the final frame, she scored 17 points and went 8-for-8 from the foul line in the fourth quarter to spark the comeback effort. For the week, Moffatt averaged 14.7 points and 12.3 rebounds per game, finished a perfect 22-for-22 from the foul line and added seven steals, five assists and a block.
This is Moffatt's first ever weekly accoalde.
