LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East conference has announced its Athletes of the Week for January 5, 2026. Today will include Players of the Week from Men's and Women's Basketball.
This week’s selections included contests through Sunday, January 4. A total of four student-athletes from three different member institutions were recognized for their performances.
Men’s Basketball
Offensive Player of the Week
Camden Hurst / JR / Lancaster Bible College / Lancaster, Pa. / Lancaster Mennonite
Hurst put up three-straight 20-point performances over the holiday break as he was the offensive workhorse for the Chargers. He'd open the window with 23 points against Drew (who is receiving votes in the national poll), then notch 21 against Franklin & Marshall before ending with 24 ppints at Moravian. The local product was effecient too, scoring at a clip of 50% from the field (24-48). Hurst also distributed the ball as he piled up four assists. To roundout the statline, he'd also record six steals, three blocks and 15 boards.
This is Hurst's second weekly award of his career, earning the Defensive Player of the Week on 12/08/25.
Defensive Player of the Week
Jalen Bowie / SR / Wilson College / Frederick Md. Frederick
Bowie was pivotal in a pair of Wilson wins in its only two games over the break. He was a rebound shy of a double-double in the Phoenix's return to action while adding two steals and two blocks in their win over Lebanon Valley. Bowie followed up with five more rebounds, two more blocks, and another steal as Wilson defeated Rosemont in the return to conference action.
This is Bowie's second ever Player of the Week nod (12/15/25)
Women’s Basketball
Offensive Player of the Week
Rachel Nolt / JR / Lancaster Bible College / Manheim, Pa. / Manheim Central
Nolt was a consistent source of offense for the Chargers over the winter break. helping her squad to a 1-1 record. In the team's loss to Delaware Valley she scored 17 including three from long range. She'd then tack on a 19-point performance in a conference win over Cairn in LBC's first game of 2026. On the week she went 15-23 (.652) from the field, 4-8 (.500) from three and a perfect 2-2 from the charity stripe. She also registered three assists across both games and 10 boards against Del Val to secure a double-double.
This is Nolt's first ever weekly accoalde.
Defensive Player of the Week
Keira Mason / SO / Brandywine, Md. / Gwynn Park
Keira Mason shot 42.1-percent from the field (16-of-38) and grabbed 27 rebounds (17 defensive) plus four assists, four steals, and three blocks in two games for the Seahawks. Mason dropped a career-best 31 points on 12-of-25 shooting while pulling down a career-high 17 rebounds (11 defensive) for her fourth double-double of the season to go along with two assists and two steals in an 88-71 loss at undefeated Guilford. She almost registered her fifth double-double with nine points and 10 boards (six defensive) while matching her career-high of three blocks and adding two assists and two steals in a 59-51 win over Piedmont.
This is Mason's first weekly nod of the season and her fourth all time (2/3/25, 1/20/25, 1/13/25)
