St. Mary’s College was dominant in the United East all season, posting an undefeated conference record before earning a commanding victory over Penn State Abington in the Conference Championship Final. Tournament Most Valuable Player, Samantha Blaylock, had a monster day coming off the bench, registering 32 points on 10-13 from the field. That has been the game plan all year for the Seahawks as their bench averages the 2nd most points of any team in Division III (37.1 points).
Stout defense has also been a strong suit of the Blue and Gold as they have forced an average of 28.7 turnovers per game which ranks fourth in the nation.
Washington and Lee also earned their way into the National Championship via an Automatic Qualifier as they produced the first undefeated regular season in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) history. A big part of that squad is 3x All-American Mary Schleusner, who has produced the most career rebounds (1,922) of any player in Division III history and has the eighth-most career points (2,407)
