United East Announces 2026 Spring Scholar Athletes

LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East has announced its Senior Scholar Athlete Award winners for the Spring season. This award recognizes a senior who truly represents the student-athlete model by performing in competition, in the classroom and around the community.
This season, 11 student-athletes from seven different institutions were recognized:

Fisher Druck
Penn State Harrisburg // Baseball
Fisher Druck has been a model student-athlete throughout his four-year career at Penn State Harrisburg, excelling both in the classroom and on the baseball diamond. An accounting major with a 3.88 GPA and 121 completed credit hours, Druck has earned numerous academic honors, including three CSC Academic All-District selections, four United East All-Academic Team honors, the 2024 United East Elite 20 Award, and recognition as the 2025 Penn State Harrisburg Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year. He is also a member of Chi Alpha Sigma and remains actively involved in campus organizations such as the FBLA Club and Accounting Club.

On the field, Druck leaves behind one of the most decorated pitching careers in Penn State Harrisburg history. He holds program records for career wins (27), starts (47), and innings pitched (248.2), while ranking second in strikeouts with 241. Among active NCAA Division III pitchers, he ranks third in career starts, fourth in wins, and tenth in strikeouts. A four-time All-Conference selection and multiple-time All-Region honoree, Druck has combined elite athletic performance with a commitment to service through volunteer work with Meals on Wheels and Oak Hill Village Senior Living Home.

Bernard Popky
Penn State Abington // Men’s Golf
Bernard Popky has distinguished himself as one of Penn State Abington's top student-athletes, combining academic excellence with consistent success on the golf course. An Economics and Business Administration major with a 3.89 GPA, Popky has excelled in the classroom while balancing the demands of collegiate athletics over three seasons of competition.

On the course, Popky has been a reliable contributor to the Nittany Lions program, posting a career scoring average of 84 and recording a career-best finish of tied for third. His dedication to both academics and athletics reflects the values of NCAA Division III, demonstrating a commitment to personal growth, competitive excellence, and academic achievement throughout his collegiate career.

Adam Martin
St. Mary’s College of Maryland // Men’s Lacrosse
Adam Martin embodies the true spirit of the NCAA Division III student-athlete through his excellence in academics, athletics, leadership, and service. An Economics and Business Administration major with a remarkable 3.963 GPA and 138 completed credit hours, Martin has been recognized as a member of Chi Alpha Sigma and has consistently demonstrated a commitment to academic success. His leadership extends beyond the classroom as a team captain and respected member of the St. Mary's community.

During his four-year lacrosse career, Martin appeared in 67 games, recording 90 ground balls and 55 caused turnovers while earning both First Team and Second Team All-United East honors. His impact reaches far beyond the field through extensive volunteer work with Special Olympics, local elementary school fundraising initiatives, and environmental conservation efforts through the Kent Island Beach Clean Up organization. Praised by his coaches as one of the most complete student-athletes they have encountered, Martin represents the highest ideals of collegiate athletics.

He checks every box a coach would want athletically and academically, but perhaps the most impressive attribute of Adam's is his kindness, compassion, and care for people, most of all his teammates. No one worked harder than Adam, cared more than Adam, or was a better teammate than Adam. I am so excited he was recognized for the all around tremendous young man that he is! Colin Flack
Penn State Harrisburg // Men’s Tennis
Colin Flack has exemplified excellence as a student-athlete during his four years at Penn State Harrisburg. A Veterinary Nursing-Biology major with a 3.85 GPA and 123 completed credit hours, Flack has earned recognition as an ITA Scholar-Athlete and member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. His dedication to academic achievement mirrors the commitment he demonstrates as a leader and mentor within the tennis program.

Flack compiled 34 career victories, including 15 singles wins and 19 doubles wins, while helping Penn State Harrisburg capture three conference championships and earn three NCAA Tournament appearances. During the 2025-26 season, he posted a 9-7 singles record and 10-6 doubles mark while remaining undefeated in conference play. Beyond competition, Flack volunteers at the Horn Farm Center for Agricultural Education and local youth tennis camps, using his passion for environmental stewardship and tennis to positively impact his community.

Mohamed Elsheikh
Gallaudet // Men’s Outdoor Track & Field
Mohamed Elsheikh has demonstrated exceptional dedication to academics and athletics throughout his time at Gallaudet University. An Information Technology major with a 3.66 GPA and 120 completed credit hours, Elsheikh has earned numerous academic distinctions, including College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors, multiple United East Scholar-Athlete selections, and induction into the Chi Alpha Sigma Athletic Honor Society. He was also recognized as one of Gallaudet's top graduating seniors through the Bison Scholar-Athlete Award.

A versatile athlete, Elsheikh has contributed across three different sports during his collegiate career. In addition to competing in men's outdoor track and field in the 800-meter and 1,500-meter events, he appeared in 44 games for Gallaudet's men's soccer program and also competed in men's cross country. His willingness to contribute across multiple programs highlights his commitment to athletic participation, teamwork, and representing the university community.

Jacob McCoy
Wilson College // Men’s Volleyball
Jacob McCoy has built an impressive legacy at Wilson College through his achievements in the classroom, on the volleyball court, and in the community. A Health and Physical Education major with a 3.70 GPA and 122 completed credit hours, McCoy has earned CSC Academic All-District honors, United East All-Academic Team recognition, and membership in Chi Alpha Sigma. His commitment to academic excellence has complemented an outstanding collegiate athletic career.

McCoy concluded his career with 663 kills, 181 total blocks, and a .306 hitting percentage, ranking among the top active NCAA Division III players in hitting efficiency. A First Team All-Conference selection in 2025 and Second Team honoree in 2026, he helped Wilson achieve or tie the program record for wins in each of his four seasons. His community involvement includes volunteering with the YMCA, participating in highway cleanup efforts, and working youth basketball camps, demonstrating a commitment to service that extends beyond athletics.

Kaylee Mushinski
Penn State Brandywine // Softball
Kaylee Mushinski has established herself as one of the most accomplished student-athletes in Penn State Brandywine history. A Communications major with a 3.68 GPA, Mushinski has earned numerous academic accolades, including three CSC Academic All-District selections, three NFCA Scholar-Athlete honors, and seven appearances on the Dean's List. She has also been recognized on four academic all-conference teams and as a member of Chi Alpha Sigma.

On the field, Mushinski's career statistics are among the best in program history. She finished with a .409 batting average, 226 hits, 226 RBI, 161 runs scored, and a program-record 28 home runs. The 2026 All-United East selection led the conference in both home runs and RBI while adding to an already decorated career that included USCAA National Player of the Year honors prior to Penn State Brandywine's transition into the United East. Away from the diamond, she has been an active leader through SAAC, THON fundraising initiatives, youth softball instruction, and her work within the athletics department.

Citrine Lummer
Gallaudet University // Women’s Flag Football
Citrine Lummer has quickly become one of the most dynamic and accomplished athletes at Gallaudet University. A Physical Education and Recreation major with a 3.73 GPA and 120 completed credit hours, Lummer has earned multiple CSC Academic All-District honors, United East Scholar-Athlete recognition, and the prestigious Bison Scholar-Athlete Award. Her academic achievements are matched by her success across multiple sports during her collegiate career.

In the inaugural varsity season of women's flag football, Lummer delivered one of the most dominant performances in the conference, recording 112 receptions for 1,316 yards and 15 touchdowns while adding 77 tackles and 11 interceptions on defense. She earned United East Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year honors while leading Gallaudet's program on both sides of the ball. A four-year standout volleyball player as well, Lummer's success across multiple sports highlights her versatility, leadership, and commitment to excellence.

Riley LeMay
Wilson College // Women’s Lacrosse
Riley LeMay has excelled in every aspect of the student-athlete experience at Wilson College. A Veterinary Nursing-Biology major carrying a perfect 4.0 GPA, LeMay has earned the United East Elite 20 Award and Wilson College's Chuck Naso Award, recognizing the institution's female student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA. Her academic accomplishments reflect an unwavering dedication to excellence in the classroom.

As a three-year member of the women's lacrosse program, LeMay has emerged as one of the conference's premier defenders, earning First Team All-United East honors in both 2025 and 2026 while serving as team captain. She has accumulated 98 ground balls and 62 caused turnovers during her career. Beyond athletics, LeMay has served as a leader within the Environmental Club and Campus Activities Board while volunteering with youth educational programs, local animal shelters, the Salvation Army, and youth lacrosse initiatives.

Natalie Hoover
Lancaster Bible College // Women’s Tennis
Natalie Hoover has been a leader both academically and athletically throughout her four years at Lancaster Bible College. A Health and Physical Education major with an outstanding 3.97 GPA and 131 completed credit hours, Hoover has earned CSC Academic All-District recognition and induction into the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. Her commitment to academic success has been complemented by her dedication to serving both her teammates and the broader community.

Hoover completed her collegiate career with 35 singles victories and 28 doubles wins while earning five All-Conference honors. During the 2026 season, she led the Chargers in singles winning percentage and recorded the most conference victories on the team. Away from competition, Hoover has volunteered extensively with organizations including the Good Samaritan Shelter, Boys and Girls Club of America, Conestoga Valley Christian Community Services, and the Bridge Youth Center, demonstrating a strong commitment to mentorship and service.

Savannah Owens
St. Mary’s College of Maryland // Women’s Outdoor Track & Field
Savannah Owens has combined academic achievement and athletic excellence to become one of the premier student-athletes at St. Mary's College of Maryland. A Marine Science major with a 3.71 GPA, Owens has earned CSC Academic All-District honors and induction into the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. Her success in the classroom reflects the same dedication and work ethic that have defined her athletic career.

Owens has rewritten the St. Mary's record book, holding school records in the indoor 200-meter and 400-meter dashes as well as multiple relay events. A multi-time All-Conference performer, she was named United East Indoor Track Runner of the Year and earned All-Atlantic Region recognition in both individual and relay events. Her commitment to service includes building beds for children in need, volunteering at the St. Mary's Soup Kitchen, and assisting at the Patuxent Naval Museum, making a lasting impact both on and off the track.
