2021 United East Runners of the Week

September 7, 2021
Logan Musumeci / FR / St. Mary's College of Maryland
Logan Musumeci led SMCM to a 2nd-place finish at the 3-team Towson Invitational, featuring Division I Morgan State and Coppin. In his first collegiate meet, Musumeci finished the 5K course in 17:48.5 for third place behind a pair of Morgan State runners.

Michael Wade / FR / St. Mary's College of Maryland
Wade showed no signs of freshman jitters as he placed first at the Shannon Henretty Invite hosted by Stevenson University on Saturday. Wade crossed the finish line of the 8K in 28:27.60, a full 24 seconds then the second place finisher. His efforts helped the Seahawks take the top team spot in the competition as well. 
 

September 24, 2021
Paolo Aranoff / FR / Penn State Harrisburg 
Aranoff paced the Lions at the Lancaster Bible Charger Invite on Friday, helping his squad take third overall. The freshman crossed the finish line in just 28:49.90, helping him claim second overall in a race with 51 competitors. The finish also found its way into the Lion records as he now holds the third-fastest 8K time in program history.

For the second time in his young career, Musumeci’s performance on the cross country course helped earn him Runner of the Week honors. The freshman crossed the finish line with a time of 28:03.89, earning him 16th place out of 141 runners. The time also aided in his team’s seventh place finish.

Wade paced the Seahawks on Friday at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University, helping him earn his second career Runner of the Week award. The first year crossed the finish line of the 8K race in 27:23.50, setting a new personal best in the process.

Paolo Aranoff / FR / Penn State Harrisburg
Much like his counterpart on the women’s side, Aranoff brought in his second-career Runner of the Week award by helping his team to a 10th place finish at the DeSales University Invitational on Sunday. The freshman timed a pace of 28:31.2 in the 8K race, earning him a 54th place finish out of the 189 total runners. The time also ranks as the third fastest in program history.
 

October 19, 2021
Logan Musumeci / FR / St. Mary's College of Maryland
For the third time in his young career, Musumeci’s performance earned him Male Runner of the Week honors. The freshman topped his Seahawk teammates as he clocked a personal best 26:27.2 at the Hood College Open on Saturday. The finish would earn him a spot on the podium as he clinched third of the 159 runners competing.
 

October 26, 2021
Patrick O'Donnell / SO / Penn State Berks

O’Donnell took advantage of his last race before conference championships as his pace helped lead the Nittany Lions to a sixth place team finish. The sophomore crossed the finish line at 28:10.4, leading his own teammates and earning him eighth place out of 85 runners.
