NEAC Unveils 2021 Men's Tennis All-Conference Teams and Award Winners

LATHAM, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced it's 2021 Men's Tennis All-Conference Teams as well as its major award winners. All-Conference is composed of two teams, each with six singles winners and three doubles pairings. The conference has also awarded the Player of the Year, the Rookie of the Year and the Coach of the Year.

Tucker Phillippe-Johansson had a phenomenal season, earning him the title of the NEAC Player of the Year. Playing in the top flight, the junior went undefeated in the regular season posting a record of 4-0. He continued his streak into the postseason as he nicked a point off of Penn State Abington despite the team loss. In doubles, Phillippe-Johansson also picked up wins in the first slot against Lancaster Bible College and Penn State Harrisburg.

Nicholas Weber made a big impression in his first full season with Penn State Berks, helping collect NEAC Rookie of the Year honors. Weber was slotted at first singles all season, picking up wins in four of his five matches. In his victories, the sophomore dominated as he never allowed an opponent to win more than three games in a set. Weber was also successful in doubles, earning three wins in the first flight.

In just his first full season as the Head Coach, Rod Baughman was tabbed the NEAC Coach of the Year. Baughman helped guide his team to a perfect 4-0 conference record and the top seed of the NEAC Championship Tournament. Overall, the team went 9-1 with its sole loss coming in a nailbiter against top-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) program Mount Aloysius College. Baughman also coached four individuals and three doubles teams to First Team All-Conference selections.
