The All-Conference teams are made up of 11 student-athletes, each with three forwards, three midfielders, three defenders, one goalkeeper and one at-large bid. Four major awards have also been handed out including Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year.
MAJOR AWARD WINNERS
Offensive Player of the Year - Kedric Yoder (Lancaster Bible College)
Defensive Player of the Year - Matt Barlow (St. Mary's College of Maryland)
Rookie of the Year - Andrew Cox (Lancaster Bible College)
Coach of the Year - Alun Oliver (St. Mary's College of Maryland)
Kedric Yoder had a historic year for Lancaster Bible as he created offense nearly every match. The graduate student started in 14 games for the Chargers racking up a conference-leading 29 points in the process. Most notably, Yoder has been a playmaker as he’s accrued 13 assists this season which ranks 3rd in Division III. His season has also brought his assist total to 39 for his career, breaking a Charger record that stood for over 30 years. One of the forward’s top outings came in a win over Wells College as he scored twice while helping on three others. Yoder has also been tabbed the Offensive Player of the Week once this season.
Matt Barlow anchored a defensive backline that helped propel St. Mary’s College to the top of the regular season table. Barlow started every contest for the Seahawks, helping stymie his opponent’s attacks. His efforts helped keep the opposing team off the board five times during the year, including three shutout wins against conference foes.
It has been quite a start to the collegiate career for Andrew Cox as his performance helped earn him the title of the conference’s Rookie of the Year. Cox appeared in all 18 games for the Chargers, starting in all but one of them. The first year midfielder scored seven times this season while assisting on three others. His most impressive outing came in a win over Penn College as he tallied his first career hat trick.
It was a tremendous year for St. Mary’s College coach, Alun Oliver, who guided his team to a Regular Season Title. The Seahawks went 7-1-0 in conference play while posting a record of 10-4-4 overall. Oliver had his squad fight with a balanced attack as they scored 29 goals on the season while only allowing nine. Under his tutelage, the Seahawks were always ready to strike as their 169 shots led the conference. At the year’s conclusion, Oliver saw eight of his players receive All-Conference nods while also guiding Matt Barlow to Defensive Player of the Year status.
